That's my point. This is coaching. In some ways Tubby has coached them up, but he keeps making them play man to man when we can't do it. He recruited these guys, they can't guard the 3 point line, but instead of trying something different, like maybe a 1-3-1, he keeps reinforcing failure out of sheer stubbornness.
Then blaming a terrible loss on the players, their psyche and the venue is simple cowardice. The blame lies on the coach and his two incompetent assistants.
Can't play man?
Pfft...
He can't motivate them to play it properly...These guys are loafing on defense and taking risks instead of playing sound defense. And when they get beat they just quit and watch especially Martin.
We're quibbling over whether I should have said won't instead of can't?

Can't is recruiting...
Won't is coaching...You can fix won't in season but he is not able to do it.
You should change defenses for CAN'T not for WON'T

This is what I can't get past. One of the definitions of a dysfunctional leader is one who does not accept blame, but rather assigns it to others (throws them under the bus).
We have a terrible leader leading our program. It's obvious.

Someone else mentioned that Tubby tends to take credit for wins and I never really thought about it until it was said.
Win a couple of games and he says we changed the offense to open some things up.
Lose a couple of games and the guys aren't listening.

Early on, the pattern of blame was there.
He told us not to expect what we've always expected...Just because we were Memphis.
That was the first warning bell.
Pastner threw his infamous line at us much later,
'How many were vacated?"
Both were shirking responsibility. The only thing is, Pastner waited for years.
In a nutshell, Tubby's pattern of taking nothing on himself was there from the beginning.
