With the season kicking off in 16 days I was wondering if anyone knew if the MAC games will be shown on ESPN3? There arent many away games within driving distance this year so Im hoping to still be able to watch them play.

These next few months are Kent’s sweet spot. Basketball is really shaping up. Baseball is starting and football is dormant

Every year I find it crazy that baseball starts in February. Luckily they are starting off at Sam Houston St. I am sure the weather will change but as of today the weekend series forecast is 2/18 60 degrees and overcast, 2/19 58 degrees and rainy, 2/20 63 degrees and partly cloudy. Which is a much better start than last year in Myrtle Beach where it was high 40's to low 50's.

Big year for us. The talent is there, we're in a terrible league, have plenty of resources and a decent schedule.

Find a way to put it together on Memorial Day Weekend.

Baseball starts this Friday .

Also, saw that only the top 6 MAC teams will play in conference tourney with the first two teams receiving a bye!

And the season has begun! Tonight's game is on ESPN3.

I take full credit for this win. By the time I got home and turned the game on it was the bottom of the 8th Kent down 4-2 and Kent walked the batter to load the bases with only one out. They got the next two runners out, scored 5 runs in the top of 9th including a grand slam. The bottom half of the 9th went 1-2-3 to end the game. Good guys earn the opening day win.

I was worried I was witnessing the Kent State of last few years, when they tried to give the game away with a balk, multiple bases left loaded, and costly errors. However, this team showed they are experienced this year, are not going to quit, and I am now very excited to watch and see how this season unfolds. IF we take this series with another win, that is very impressive.

KSU Baseball is Senior and Redshirt heavy for the 1st time in a while. The experience and talent is there for another great season. Hopefully they can win the MAC Tournament that has slipped away the last few years.

College baseball is a crazy sport. It is hard to tell how good a team is just by looking at final scores. MTSU wins 11-6 then follows it up with a 4-21 loss. I wonder which team will show up today.

Nice Tennessee sweep for the Flashes! Hopefully the offensive production is for real. Hamilton was removed from the game in the 9th after being HBP. Hopefully just precautionary. The Winthrop series next week is definitely winnable. Then, it's on to face the #3 team in the country, the Razorbacks. If we could only win 2 of 3 in that one :-O

The Golden Flashes continue their march through the south. They take the weekend series with Winthrop, 2-1.

Big series this weekend against #7 Arkansas. They will play 2 games on Friday starting at 4 pm et and one game on Sunday. It does look like the games will be on ESPN3.

We may have been eliminated from the basketball tourney but our spring boys split the day with Arkansas losing game one 2-7 and winning game two 10-4. It should make for a fun rubber match on Sunday. The boys are sitting at 7-4 on the year. Three of the four loses come down to 4 bad innings. Two of those four innings were down to Kraus which caused the last two losses. Hopefully it doesn't follow him through the rest of the season.
