But he is the RB coach. Not sure if he will be able to influence the QB coach and OC, who need to work with the limits of the current QB corps.

Depth to the staff, with different ideas. RB coach, TE coach are the simplest asst jobs. They are usually held by someone with talent on the way up.

The Daily Chronicle interviewed Drew Hare on the Jake Landry hire and Drew says he's going to be great. Wouldn't doubt that he has input into the QB position too. The DC has a new weekly email about Huskie athletics, you can get by signing up at the Chronicle website.

This makes perfect sense; now that we have made the decision to go with run first QBs.

Is Carey signed thru 19? anyone know?

Carey’s contract expires June 30, 2019. So this is currently his last year.

Thank God. Fick Carey! Bring the energy of the program back in 2019.

He's on the last year of the contract? Well that says something, better have a good year.

Let's see what happens this year. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised and Carey will get a 10-year extension.

Newsflash: I just heard at the game from a pretty reliable source that Carey's contract was just extended 2 years. Unconfirmed, of course.

Now that Carey's contract has supposedly been extended, will Monty's be next?

How bout Frazier? Maybe it's still early on his clock, but his phone isn't ringing like the last 3 ADs who has that chair and then left and moved on.

God help us. I was neutral on Carey until last season. He lost me with his handling of the QB position and the god awful fake punt in the Bowl Game.

He is in over his head and if the program regains any success it will be despite him not because of him.

At least his antics will keep us awake wondering what the next bonehead play will be and when it will happen.

It's time for STF to hit the trail. Maybe that will happen after he extends Monty's contract.

Another move for former Illinois State RBs coach Lamar Conard, who has left Northern Illinois to join the staff at Miami of Ohio. Best wishes to Lamar.

Cam?

Garrett Wolfe would be my pick.

Maybe Frazier’s waiting to host an ExtensionPalooza where fans guess the parameters of the contract.

It’s hard to announce the extension of coaches nobody likes. Lol
