Georgia Southern
The men should have won the game at Georgia Southern. They did not match up with us on the inside. But neither did asu. Tookie Brown three at the buzzer beat us. We will see what happens tonight.

The women crushed Georgia Southern. Southern's score by quarters was 6, 10, 8, 10. We won by 30.

I will guarantee we will get one win tonight. Less confident about 2 wins, but I'm still holding on to the rope.

We had better remember the formula we used there, whatever it was.

RealtimeRPI picks them by 4.
Sagarin picks them by 6.

Only nine more chances to make a little noise this regular season.

Tonight's entire starting lineup presumably returning next season. 80% of it returning the year after that.

Just over 5 minutes into the game and Andre already has four turnovers.

They are shooting mainly outside the arc, and missing. We are shooting mainly inside the arc, and making.

Sooner or later you have to figure they are going to start making some of those 3s they are jacking up.

The two teams are a combined 1 of 14 from the arc so far.

Pretty fair half of basketball by our guys. Defense was outstanding. Rebounding good. Making our shots.

RE: Georgia Southern
As expected, we will have to earn this one to win it.

Reedus has the hot hand. Get him the ball.

This could get out of hand in a hurry. Better tighten up on defense.

RE: Georgia Southern
Good first half by our guys, but it felt like GS just pressed the accelerator enough to get the win. They definitely are a cut above us.

Andre had a good, solid game except for turnovers. Camron Reedus is starting to come around. Nice game. It really hurts us when Marcus and Bankston can't stay on the court because of fouls.

Not doubt GaSou is simply a little better than we are at this point in time. Still, the difference in the game was our awful free throw shooting. Some will argue otherwise, but I don't think you can blame Wes for that. Coach Cole said after the game that they work on free throw shooting, every practice, and the players have to make a bunch of them before they can leave. Most of the guys shoot them well in practice. Maybe someone like Coach K would have an answer, but I certainly don't. Of course, Coach K probably doesn't need to take a chance on a player who isn't a good free throw shooter before he gets to Duke.

RE: Georgia Southern
Shooting FTs in practice is completely different from shooting them in games. There is not much pressure in practice. I know a coach who would line up the team and throw $40 under the basket. Then, one by one, they took turns shooting free throws. If you missed, you were out. The last one standing took the $40. Sometimes, for added pressure, he would throw down another $40 when it came down to the final four. And the coach would not do this til the end of practice right after they had run 40 sprints. Wanted to make sure they were tired as they are at the end of a game.
