I might add Four Roses Single Barrel and some John Bowman Single Barrel to this party while we're at it.

It does seem that the SRS ranking system is also a bit biased towards more recent years.
Obviously, too, each season's rating is relative to the quality of competition for that year. In fact, the SRS for the 73 team rated them as the 16th best team. The 2010 team's SRS had them at 48th place.
It's weird, looking at that 73 team. They spent a good portion of the season unranked and only played two ranked teams in the regular season (went 1-1).

4 roses is very good. Blantons is my usual. Japan makes some great whiskey, I go there a lot. The Chita is good, as is many of the better Suntory whiskies.

Dilly Dilly! I'm a bit partial to the Hibiki12 ---got the last bottle in the state, prolly.
I'll give the Chita a go, now that you've recommended it, though

I realize we will NOT be a NCAA tournament team but I really like the guys and their effort.
IMO - No one could doubt that Tubby has his squad playing at their best.
This issue is simply talent
That's the issue. The talent sucks. Recent history both here, at TT, and at Minnesota, his teams have tanked at the end. Not sure if that trend is from having little talent that is forced to play lots of minutes, having to deal with his old school BS, or being blamed for losing streaks, or possibly all three. But nevertheless, it is a trend, just like not having a winning record in conference or signing Top 25 recruiting classes. Expecting something different is simply naïve.
