Jerry Kill has been hired as a special assistant to help with recruitment and fundraising efforts. Kill is very familiar to Saluki fans.

SIU will pay legendary coach, Jerry Kill, $149,000 a year to serve as an ambassador and assist in fundraising for the athletics program. When asked about the reason for the new appointment with the current financial state of the university, Chancellor Montemagno said bringing Kill back to SIU will more than compensate for what the position costs. Kill has the same confidence.

We can't afford to pay our assistants (not our dc & oc) that type of money and SIU is paying a "special assistant"?

He will bring more money into the program than they will pay him. Make sense for him too since his permanent residence is still there.

Good for him, sounds like a great fit for both him and SIU at this time in his life.
