In the same vein, I work in health care risk management. Some of the members on the team are nurses and attorneys. Some are just nurses. Regardless, they always feel the need to give their credentials first when speaking up in any meeting, as if they are the only ones who have any credentials...

RE: What grinds your gears?
Geopolitical strategist George Freeman, formerly founder of STRATFOR, has a new book out, The Storm Before the Calm, which I am reading on the recommendation of Vandiver. Friedman sees a current struggle between intellectual experts and their theoretical constructs versus common sense and their practical ideas, which he thinks will come to a head some time in the next decade. It’s an interesting thesis. I think this CV-19 event has exposed a lot of that.

I’m reminded of a Yogi Berra-ism, “In theory, theory works in practice. In practice, it doesn’t.”

It's a crazy think Stinky. Two weeks ago all I heard about was meat shortages. Friday was at the local Wally World and they had more meat than I've seen in awhile.

I'm not saying we've been had, but I'm thinking there's been some hijinks played on the American people.

@today'sSunHasn'tSet

The damned MSM is driving, or trying to drive, panic and shortages. There was no meat shortage during the whole mess until the MSM showed Smithfield and talked about looming meat shortages. The result was every ignorant ******* in the country rushing out to buy hamburger meat. I've been to SAM's twice during this mess. On trip one (in the middle of the virus fears) I filled everything on a 27 item list except for 409 which they don't carry. I bought fresh Salmon, Sirloin Steaks, Pork Chops, and a spiral cut Ham (not a Smithfield), and Connecuh Sausage. They had toilet paper and paper towels.

The second trip 3 days after the MSM started screaming "meat shortage" the only thing they were rationing was the damned Hamburger meat. It was the same crap with TP at the onset.

What we have in the U.S., and this is the scariest thing of all, is a population in which 15% of the populace who hear "wolf" they pause, look around to see what's happening, and then they say, "I don't see any damned wolves!", and we have the other 85% who run through the streets screaming "Wolf". If you aren't panicked they run up to you and yell, "Wolf".

If we ever truly have a meat shortage, we always have the 85% which if ground up finely enough would at least make good Alpo.

RE: What grinds your gears?
Inconsistency in Law Enforcement

In my young man days I traveled 100 to 150,000 miles a year and drove them all. I was in major cities, rural towns, midsized communities, and whistle stops. I covered 5 states in the process and sometimes traveled to more depending on conventions etc.

In that time I never had a moments worry or trouble if pulled over by a State Trooper anywhere. Those guys were professionals with sound manners, no nonsense yet courteous engagement and they controlled the situation without threat. Kudos to them they were one classy collection of officers. City police fell into 3 categories: Professional, Unsure of themselves and dangerous, and crooked. Local cops fell into 2 categories, unprofessional but friendly, and crooked. Whistle stop constables were mostly out for revenue to justify their jobs.

I never felt uncomfortable with a State Trooper anywhere. I felt apprehensive with City cops until you could see what kind they were. I always was apprehensive with Local Law, and simply endured the fleecing of the Whistle Stop yocal and chalked it up to cost of doing business.

During my time a competitor that I knew was shot and killed for being a responsible driver. He was getting sleepy on I95 and found a place to pull over to sleep. A local cop decided to check out his car. He didn't use the PA. He didn't identify himself or hit the siren or lights. Instead he got out of his patrol car with a flashlight and walked up to the drivers window and shined it inside and then rapped the window. The man woke up had no idea who was trying to get in his vehicle and reached for his weapon that he had a permit to carry and was shot 4 times and died.

They don't have to be brutal, or crooked, or even bigoted for any of us to get killed. They only have to be poorly trained, unfamiliar with procedures, and stupid and it could be any of us getting killed for nothing.

There are innocent whites killed by lousy law enforcement every year. There is no story unless its local. Here on I85 we had an airman traveling from Texas to a new duty assignment who got clipped by an 18 wheeler. The truck driver pulled over and called for an officer to write up the accident. He got out and was exchanging insurance information with the airman when a rookie idiot fresh out of high school parked his cruiser about 100 yards from the accident and started walking towards the two drivers. He saw that they had something in their hands and started screaming for them to raise their hands. They didn't reply because they couldn't hear him over the interstate traffic noise. So he drew his weapon and yelled as he walked closer. The Airman turned and he was shot. All he was holding was his wallet and the insurance card of the truck driver. He didn't die but he'll have a colostomy bag the rest of his life and will never be able to return to active duty.

So what grinds my gears is how we can so wonderfully train State Troopers and so miserably train locals and city police. If I saw a Trooper in trouble I'd stop in a heartbeat to help. If I see a local cop in trouble I wouldn't dream of stopping for fear of getting shot, and not by the perp.

Something has to give. And as always due apologies to competent law officers in any level of law enforcement. I'm just sorry to say they have so much placed on them by their brothers and sisters who aren't up to the task. But it is what it is and it is a real problem. I think before we give anyone a badge and a gun they need to have completed standardized in depth training and have served as a junior partner to a veteran officer somewhere.

My roommate from USNA was briefly a Sheriff in a small town after he separated from the Navy. His recounting of the experience was that there was a lot of unspoken resentment towards him. Not because of his race, but more that he had far better options than they did. In essence, these individuals felt that law enforcement was the only means to achieve respectability and power while he could obtain such accolades in a multitude of fields. He left after two years but in that two was promoted twice.

Like you I know the issues that come up from police brutality are initiated by a handful of individuals, but I think the mindset of the transgressors are similar.

It's like everything in life worth preserving. You prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and know that some things are worth dying for and your children's future is at the top of the list.

What is lost in this discussion is that the policemen of today were educated in the same anti-American, left loving, truth denying, revisionist sheise pile of a school system as the ANTIFA pudendums and the weak assed I must apologize for my privilege cucks were. They are too young and dumb to know that the only privileged that exist live in gated communities and only go to private schools. And yet their ignorant asses are apologizing for things that they never ever have been responsible for. That's as stupid as it gets!

This is why the fight is now. If not now they win by default as we die out those raised on the NEA's lies and craptastic education take over. And when they do its game over for sanity.

So Stink the zeitgeist says it's our turn to man the wall against the Vandals, Goths, and Visogoths. We may be old, but they are stupid and there has to be an advantage in there somewhere. We may be the first nation ever to cease to exist because we raised 35 years worth of gutless, idiots who can't think for themselves and think your movie Idiocracy is a effing documentary!

What is lost in this discussion is that the policemen of today were educated in the same anti-American, left loving, truth denying, revisionist sheise pile of a school system as the ANTIFA pudendums and the weak assed I must apologize for my privilege cucks were. They are too young and dumb that the only privileged that exist live in gated communities and only go to private schools.

We may be old, but they are stupid and there has to be an advantage in their somewhere. We may be the first nation ever to cease to exist because we raised 35 years worth of gutless, idiots who can't think for themselves and think your movie Idiocracy is a effing documentary!

You aren’t alone in your defense. As I learned in the Navy, eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.

When your wall needs manning just call!

Well in the words of Forrest Gump, I think it's going to be both....at the same time. There's a breach and we are in it. Breach of law, breach of law enforcement, breach of trust in our major investigative bodies, breach of House Rules, breach of respect, breach of our security by an adversary using trade to infect us, breach of truthfulness within our health services because they have dual interests, and now the lying media is trying to create a breach among us. The POTUS can't fill it all. If not now when? You have a daughter, I have two. They inherit a world filled with our generations screw ups. The corporate mess, the garbage holding too many offices, and the quality of the air on the tube, all happened on our watch. And our biggest failure is the abnegation of checking up and insisting on change in public education. Sig line 1 is reality due to the afore mentioned. Sig line 2 would be paradise along with the Barrier Islands, the Mountain Ranges, and the Forests of the Northwest. But I'm afraid they are just a mental escape from the reality of Line 1, but we need those to clear our minds to meet that reality. For me it's the sea and those Islands.

This ain't '68, and I'm not sure the mental acumen of the nation will tip our way like it did in '68. We'll see. Until then there's a helluva lot of breaches to fill and I'm not talking feet in the stirrups for the GYN..

RE: What grinds your gears?
Dog owners who take no responsibility for their pets.

We currently rent a townhouse, well until the end of July, but that's another story another time. Our little townhouse community has several dog owners and they walk their dogs down to the bus stop and let their dogs do their business, I have no problem with that. Most will even pick up the dog poop and dispose of it. I have no issue with that.

The issue I'm having is next to our little community is a set of luxurish apartments. The dog owners there will walk to our yards and let their dogs crap everywhere and not pick it up. Our management company is different from theirs and there's nothing that can be done. I've been advised to call the cops.. F that.. I'm gonna sit on my porch with the sling shot and shoot the owners in the arse for the headache.

What grinds your gears?
Just bag it up yourself for about a week or so, then deliver them a little treat
