People who always talk about money

People who finish other people’s sentences

Tone deaf people

People who don’t make eye contact with clerks, cashiers or servers

This happens because the public doesn't force their hand. Our tax dollars are supposed to go to road repair at the state level. Yet the public lets the governor talk the state into a penny sales tax raise to cover items that should be in the government's annual budget.

Yes the governments are corrupt, but they enjoy the fact that Joe Q public is so stupid as to never call their hand.

In Columbus Georgia a few years back the city ran adds for increasing the sales tax and cited poor brakes on the school buses and leaky ceilings in the class room as health hazards for the kids. The public voted them a penny sales tax increase. What the public should have done is to take those adds and use them to fire the school commissioner and the school board. They have a budget every damned year and maintenance of school buses and fixing leaky rooves is part of their annual expense, so if those aren't handled for the safety of our children, but they board votes everyone their annual COLA instead, it only proves their greed and disregard for the kids and the stupid public should get that and raise hell.

There is an old adage my friend and it is true, "People get more of what they tolerate!" Tolerate corruption and you get more of it. Tolerate bad behavior and you get more of it. Tolerate illegal immigration and you get more of it.

The real issue in this country is that the voters are too stupid to hear what they are being indirectly told, too lazy to do anything about it, and too wrapped up in their daily activities to notice even if they aren't stupid and lazy.

wow.....was that implemented on all consumer purchases???....even if it wasn't, that's insane relative to improperly managing funds....that's a monster chunk of money for a municipality of 200k....local politicians are the worst once they get their hooks into the game...

the 'burg recently implemented a 1% increase on hotel and restaurant purchases to subsidize parks and recreation/upgrade the southern miss' basketball coliseum (I voted yes...it was necessary)....if it would've tacked it on to all consumer goods, it would've been, "hell fk'n no!"

https://www.wdam.com/2019/04/24/polls-cl...eferendum/

once white flight began in the 'burg about 30 yrs. ago, (and also to your point of apathy and ignorance) we received 16 yrs. of a horseshite/corrupt/you name it mayor that finally got outed '17....

how 'bout this....that dipshite is now running for Sec. of State after failing miserably to win the gubernatorial race in '11....

I'm actually a tad nervous the democratic nominee running for governor has a chance in the upcoming election...he's spending money like he's tight with Soros...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_DuPree - former mayor running for SoS

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Hood - democratic gubernatorial candidate

if either one wins, it would be a fk'n disaster for the 'sip....

we easily live in crazy times relative to how the USD and fiscal politics play together on a local/state/federal level...

RE: What grinds your gears?
You know what grinds my gears… I have elementary school aged children. I hate how the schools give the kids projects that are designed to be done by the parents. For example, on Friday my 2nd grader was given an assignment where he is to conduct a 2-page paper on a country of his choice, where he is to discuss customs, traditions, food and entertainment of said country along with other details. Or the time they wanted “him” to design a pumpkin to look like his favorite story book character. Its bad enough I got to help him learn common-core math, now I have to do all these projects as well?

I get projects for my Pre-K kid. It is ridiculous. At least once a week I am doing art projects. I always hated glitter and glue.

And the saddest part of this is when your children graduate from college and arrive at their low paying corporate entry jobs, they'll spend 12 to 16 hours a month completing more worthless busy work in the form of Computer Based Education (CBE's) to prove every month that they actually know something about the job for which they were hired, instead of spending that time doing their jobs. And worse their efficiency reports will largely consist of whether or not those CBE's were completed on time instead of how much work they've gotten done and how happy the those who interact with them are because of their professionalism.

It's a sick counterproductive world and it's not getting better, nor is it getting any more reasonable. Just remember the old definition of Hell, it's the absence of reason.

But look on the bright side, at least you won't have to do their CBE's. But unfortunately the work you are doing now isn't for your child, but rather for the busy work assigned to the teachers to get done so they can it a parental interactive event, which of course isn't designed for your kids to learn anything, but for the teacher to prove your required involvement.

People who talk LOUDLY to their young children in public places

Trying to reach a live person on the phone at USPS when trying to track a lost package

People who break in line and then get irritated when you call them on it

Agree on #1.

Agree on #2 but not inclusive enough. Try reaching a real person who speaks English at AT&T.

As to the third a karate chop to the throat can be highly effective, provided there are no cameras around, but expect applause from everyone else. Many decades ago when I was Freshman if you wanted student football tickets you had to wait until the Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores had gone first to try to get the few tickets that Freshman could claim and there weren't enough to go around. After standing in line for close to 3 hours and within 20 feet of the ticket window a Sorority girl who had been standing in line let about 20 of her sisters ahead of her. The tickets sold out halfway through the sorority group that broke line. And the guy who was behind the girl that let them in cold cocked her when she turned to leave with her sisters. I thought poor guy he's going to get busted by campus police, but those in line behind him cheered and covered his exit.

So my point is if they are really rude and inconvenience everyone be prepared for those behind you to cheer! There's just not a place low enough in hell for line breakers.
