I think I'll just go to the local Christian book store & buy something there.

I live in a liberal area.. The other day we went and I picked up two Brad Thor books and started reading one while my son played in the kids area.. A man asked me did I know what I was reading.. Said yep, it's a book..

No it glorifies violence and toxic masculinity...

Great.. All the things I am and love. Have a great day hoss.

He promptly grabbed his wife and kid and left in a scurry.

I always wonder just how these ninnies think that they would be doing under Nazi, or Communist totalitarianism? Hitler youth employed all forms of fighting to instill a culture of violence and blunt the development of the conscience. If not for the toughness of the American male where would these pansies be? Dead or brutalized would be my guess! And the Young Pioneers (commie version of the Hitler Youth) were every bit as bad. Both operated under total Darwinian principles.
These are the same people that will show up at my house if it hits the fan and ask for protection or to borrow a weapon.. Sure.. If you can open the safe help yourself. But I charge an arm and leg for ammo.

Democracies fail through political corruption. Check. And when Beta's vote the Alpha's out of leadership. Check. Our enemies know this, and corporatists are so afraid of losing a foreign buck that they refuse to see the threat. Toss in likely being past peak oil (witnessed by agenda's against privately owned gasoline engines, both small and large, and the ever-visible potable water crisis, which is emerging, and Americans can count on conflict. We have large reserves of water and oodles of oil and natural gas wells capped or located. When the world goes to war over resources the U.S. will likely not get nuked. They need to take the land unscathed. Our combat will be conventional. We need to toughen up, and now!

I live in a Purple city/county. Has nothing to do w/ what makes up the local population. Was listening to a podcast, ironically the other day, that was explaining how liberals have control of public libraries & how they do their selection for new book orders.

That's not how it works in my area.

Our library has a public request system for new books, and they're very good about buying the books that are requested. The Dads in my kids' Catholic homeschool group are very active in requesting new books (even ones they don't intend to read).

RE: What grinds your gears?
This week.. Stupidity of others... Had a someone call me an a-hole.. I kindly reminded them they can take two steps back and f themselves.. Shocked the guy said what brought that on.. Said you called me an a-hole, if you want that guy, he can be here the entire time you're here or you can get the true version of me.. But let's be clear, if this is how you're going to be you can leave or I can escort you off my site.. and trust me I can do it, but it's gonna hurt.. Guy apologized.. We started our walk and he screamed at me for him not being able to put something in ahead of work being done.. I said hoss, do we need to step outside and offsite, to which he stopped and apologized again.. I asked him what did he do during the weekly meetings cause this was discussed.. He admitted he hadn't been paying attention and I informed him that it was going to cost him.. Then he let it slip that he had been talking to one of the consultants without anyone else being privied to the conversations, which led me to informing him any changes would come out of his pocket and not ours.. I sent a nice email to the consultant and the person that holds his contract as well.. SOB claimed old age crept in.. I told him well good he should have a stack to pay for the change orders he possibly created...

Told my wife this morning I feel like I've been an a-hole all week and I needed an evening with her and some fun with the kid to get me back to level.

RE: What grinds your gears?
This past weekend i was at a 4 way stop sign. Common rule is let the car to the right go first when there is more than one car there and work your way around the loop from there.

I was in the line, I let the car to my right go first. The car behind him jumped up and kept on going. I honked my horn at them and they flipped me off. If I am wrong and you ant to flip me off - so be it.. I earned it, but when you are an ignorant a-hole (and wrong) then flip me off you deserve a minor beating.

A few years ago I may have followed that f-er and "reminded" him of the rules of the road. A little wiser and smarter now; I chose to let it pass. Instead I took his plate and gave it to my neighbor - who happens to be the Chief of Police in my town. I heard the guy was pretty pissed about the $300 fine he received. My neighbor will not follow up if the guy contests the ticket (if he chooses to), but the a-hole will have to deal with it.

RE: What grinds your gears?
Here is one.

Ok NFL dorks, stop wearing other men's jerseys. If you are a kid its ok. If you are a chick, its ok. If you actually play in the NFL, its ok. If you are a dude thats is dating an NFL fooball player and you wear his jersey, thats ok. My girlfriend wore my jersey in high school. I get it

If you are a grown ass man wearing another grown ass mans jersey. Stop it. Have some self respect.

RE: What grinds your gears?
As to what grinds my gears, everything. I could write a freakin book. But for the last couple of weeks especially it's jailbirds, low life egg sucking dog jailbirds. I told my boss yesterday she needs to come up with more money or I'm walking. They don't pay me enough for how stressful my job has become in recent months. I don't know if it's something in the air or if I'm just getting older and less tolerant of fools, conmen and bad guys. I've never really had stress issues, at least not since my last divorce in 2012, and I'm having a bit of difficulty dealing with it right now.

Couple those issues with the fact that I suffer from chronic pain that seems to move around, I never know from one day to the next what's going to be hurting (except my lower back, I can always count on it) and I feel like my pressure relief valve is set to go off at any moment. I just turned 66, I could pass for 56 and feel like I'm 86. As I told someone yesterday who commented on my physique, it might look good on the outside but it's all mush on the inside. Where I used to be able to throw around 50 pound dumbbells like they were nothing 20 pounders these days feel like 100 pounds. So I guess the bottom line is that getting old really chaps my ass.

On a positive note, my partial knee replacement is the best thing I've done for myself in a long time! 11 weeks out and virtually pain free.

What really grinds my gears is a government pushing all of my buttons in order to intentionally grind my gears in hopes of justifying stealing something(s) from me!

Brian Kilmeade … this is now the 3rd time in as many weeks he’s announced he’ll appear in Branson vs. Brandon, MS in Nov…

toss in his hard-on for muh Ukraine w/o any valid argument and his inability to work 18 hrs./day effectively, and we’re seeing the beginning of his dementia level escalate…

RE: What grinds your gears?
When Ellis Island was open we screened immigrants for 2 things, health and skills.

Now we have smallpox popping up in some places, human heartworms, and a preponderance of the unskilled.

Why did the greatest country on Earth abandon selectivity and become a nation which no longer teaches excellence and hard work, but rather stresses government assistance and tolerance?

It seems to me that you welcome those who add, and tolerance only exists (is necessary) when that you don't want is foisted upon you!

It is because we must stress tolerance that we are no longer the greatest nation.
It is because we no longer screen for health that the CDC has gained ridiculous power.
It is because we no longer pursue excellence that the middle class is under duress.
It is because we no longer look for skills we need that we are ass deep in crime!

Every one of those issues stems from corrupt government!

And if I serve on a jury where such a thing has happened, or where anyone who is texting or talking on a cell phone at the time of a motor vehicle accident is beaten by the victims within an inch of their lives, I shall acquit! Narcissism is amplified by isolating electronic devices to the point that it seizes the last ounce of common courtesy and common sense from the arsehole using them!

Skip Bayless....

Instead of letting last night play out a little bit longer and getting a full understanding of what was going on, he decided to put being first ahead of being right.

I do not have the direct quote but (in essence) he said the is a huge game, especially this late in the year... they HAVE to finish it today.

It was pretty damn clear that none of those players were going to be able to play after that (on either team) .... period.

Sovereign citizens. I’m not sure if it really grinds my gears. It’s more of a fascination. They have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about, but damned if they aren’t passionate about their nonsense.
