Stupidity and ignorance are epidemic Kap. That's why I will not quit stating that in order to fix our country we must take the classrooms back from those polluting the minds of our young. If we don't the ignorant will outnumber us within the next 17 years. Let that sink in.

The enemies of our way of life have now been dumbing down our kids since the mid to late 80's. It's only gotten worse and has migrated from high schools to a guaranteed certainty in higher education where accreditation and academic rank are at least partially enhanced by Ivy trained professors. That's a small tree of rotten apples unless their field is science and mathematics.

RE: What grinds your gears?
Just came back from a 4 day weekend at the beach. Saw a couple things that just grinded my gears.

1) My little guys were playing in the sand. A family came in and set up camp right on top of where they were playing. WTF?
2) I ran each morning on the sidewalk along the shoreline. Every day I would have a family just stand there on the sidewalk not paying attention covering the sidewalk and into the grass. They didn't pay attention forcing me to stop to avoid plowing people over.

Finally, not beach related, but we got home Sunday morning to learn that our paper delivery driver caused a three car accident at the intersection near my house. All three cars were totaled, including one that was flipped over. This is a residential neighborhood with a lot of children and the posted speed limit is 25 mph. There is no reason why an accident with this level of impact should have occurred. Slow the eff down!

RE: What grinds your gears?
Had one more from yesterday that I forgot to post: While coming back from vacation, we stopped by a fast food Drive-Thru window. Within seconds, we were greeted with a "what do you want". After we placed the order we drove to the 1st window and were greeted by the employee who took the order, she was not smiling and in fact made no eye contact with us. She looked at us as if we were bothering her.

This is a huge chain. Whatever happened to a script that said something to the effect of "Welcome to _______, may I take your order?". What about greeting the customer with a smile and saying "Thank you, come back again"?

Holy moly, this is a huge national chain.

Oh I am. I guess it happens there so much that I’ve gotten used to it.

Now on that front, I really dislike mission creep. I don’t know how a trip with the wife to Lowe’s ends up becoming a new deck.

RE: What grinds your gears?
Spent the day with the kiddos at Coney Island Amusement Park in Cincinnati. We were at Sunlite Pool, and put our towels and bags on lawn chairs very early in the day. Sunlite Pool has a high and low dive pool in the park. Spent a couple hours with the kids diving. Came back to our chairs and a couple were sitting on top of our chairs that were covered by our towels-- as if the towels (and our bags) were not even there.

Politely asked them to get off my towels-- this young couple looked at me as if they had no idea what I was talking about (they did not look like the brightest bulbs in the bunch) and did not offer an apology.

Just watched a Rachael Maddows show tonight (8-14). and was thinking about a possible purpose the Russians would have if the President is really manipulated ( A conspiracy theory to almost everyone on this board ). Think about the farming states if you watch this with the trade war that is in progress right now. I know this is off topic, but have been drinking and need time to determine what to say in a new topic.

Lol

Are we already back to the ROOOSKIES!!!?

Is it that week again already? I thought we were still on racisss! week.

But, hey. If you’re still up getting the drink on at 6 AM EST on a Wednesday/Thursday, I guess I can see watching that loon Maddow for some comedic relief. Maybe it’s cathartic (?). Hope it’s something decent like an absolut or Stoli.

But, no. Aside from some run of the mill, minor bookface ads, 100 grand I think, the entire RUSSIA!!! thing is a Madcow delusional, wishful dreamscape.

Sleep tight, morning weekday is very close to being on you...

RE: What grinds your gears?
*sigh*

This is an oldie but a goodie and still relevant considering recent events-

The Weather Channel

I completely get the need, interest, etc in their broadcasts especially when it involves a complete disaster like the Bahamas, this storm closing in on southern Fl etc. LOT'S of very good and necessary info coming in.

It's the milking of the thing until just absolutely the last rain drop has fallen.
I had it on earlier cause we have property in the Outer banks and that was landfall. Then it really started to hustle on out.

But no, here we STILL have their "war" correspondents, dressed head to toe in their Lands End "fatigues" holding the hood down leaning harrrrrrd into that gale force wind and pelting, sideways rain, seemingly struggling to get every word out into the mic.

Then, the white-haired old lady walking her little white yappy-dog goes strolling on by behind them, or the two 12YO's in their colorful boardshorts and nothing else come dance across the screen doing that dopey, rather entertaining dance by that Korean artist from a few years ago.

Come on, folks. If it's bad, please let us know. When it's largely passed, please tell us that as well. Lot of the people in these coastal towns rely on these last # weeks to truly turn a profit after a long busy season, no need to deter or scare off people that'd still like to make a last week or weekend visit of the season.

Best time of the year IMHO.

It's just a Jerry Rig from a person with short fat fingers, you know like Trumps. LOL

It's easier to open this way instead of trying to grab it with Trumpy fingers.

Sorry guys, but don't you know an easy open grave when you see one? This is where all of the bogus claims of the Dems reside when they've been buried by the truth. The Dems installed the easy open lid so they wouldn't have to keep digging them up. Now they just lift and retrieve so the MSM has easy access to all the crap that continues to get buried due to irrelevancy.

You see Dems and the MSM are not only stupid liars, but they are lazy as well.
