RE: Kent State vs Buffalo
Great game. I emotionally, not physically, left the game at half time. Buffalo looked unbeatable in the first half, in fact I said that they were the best team that I had seen at the MACC in many years. My favorite player on the team is the one that not many are talking about, Jaen Avery. He is the glue and my guess is that he is the point in the MAC. He is not a show boat and I like that. He is calling the sets and I know that Coach has confidence in him. Count on him for almost no turn overs. You have to love a team that has heart and puts forth the effort. May have to make the trip to BG.

Another thing, if you look at the stats, you will have a hard time figuring how we won that game. UB hit shots at a 10% greater percentage than us.

Not trying to troll, just like reading what opposing fans have to say. Kent State won because they took advantage of UB's overaggressive defense and got to the free throw line. They made 11 more free throws then Buffalo did because UB settles for too many jump shots instead of driving to the basket. I love it when Buffalo makes those jump shots, but really wish they would go to the basket more at times.

De La Rosa is a handful and I really think those three's Pippen hit at the end of the first half was the turning point in the game.

Yes I know it got a little chippy at the end, but this really could be a great rivalry between these two schools. I know you guys have Akron, but I would love for the MAC to bill these meetings between Buffalo and Kent State as marquee match ups. However, with both being Tuesday night games, they won't get put on national TV.

Good luck and we will see you again in like two weeks here!

Thanks for coming and hope that outside of the result (well for you of course) I hope you enjoyed the trip. If Buffalo and Kent both have good basketball teams at the same time so that the games are important and the teams/fans get excited for the games in general then you may eventually see the games played on nights to take advantage of that.

Great win by KSU over UB. Per Jeremy Guy, if the MAC Men's Basketball Tournament started today, UB would be #1 seed and KSU would be #3 seed.

Right. Kent State actually has the 3rd best MAC W-L record at 6-3. Everyone else has at least four losses except Buffalo (8-1) and Toledo (7-2). The remainder are all bunched up with from four to six losses, except Ohio in last at 2-7.

That's an interesting point. To me they're always huge games because Buffalo has been one of the better teams in the MAC for the last several years. However, I can understand why the MAC wouldn't be pushing our matchups. In the 5 seasons before this year the average score differential in the regular season matchups between Kent and Buffalo it's 11.2. So in general we're not playing a lot of close games. 5 of the 10 games were decided by more than 10 points. That doesn't make for really exciting TV.
