RE: 1/29 Bracketology
They really might do seven teams in the tournament again. Disaster could always strike, but there's an identifiable path to seven that doesn't hinge on wildly improbable upsets. Thought 6 was their likely cap.

Cool thing is that four of the teams have favorable seeds in the first round, with two being top-2.

with 2 great matchups in rd 2, and then the rest aren't so pretty-
Providence/Kansas in Wichita
Seton Hall/Ohio St
Creighton/Arizona in San Diego
Butler/Virginia in Charlotte
Marquette/Michigan St in Detroit
3 pretty close to road games- and then Creighton/Arizona isn't exactly favorable either.

Leave it to you Stever to omit the news that the conference seems on track to get 70% of the conference teams in the tournament for the second straight year, while nobody else has even one. Instead you try to find something negative in potential matchups and sites, even though the chances are extremely remote any of those predictions will come to pass. You're consistent if nothing else.

RE: 1/29 Bracketology
Like I've said all along, I'd rather get fewer teams in but better seeds. Having 2 6's is hardly great. If the Big East gets 7 teams in, like it or not, but the bottom 3 or 4 teams will have brutal 2nd round matchups. If Providence, Marquette, and Butler all get in, they are all 3 going to be in the 8-10 group and will have close to a road game in rd 2. That is just the fact of the matter. If Butler and Providence are both 9 seeds, and Nova is a 1 seed, here are the 3 options for the committee-
Virginia in Charlotte
Purdue in Detroit
Kansas in Wichita
yeah, none are exactly great options....
same with Marquette in the 2 seeds- Here's the 3 options for the committee with Marquette
Auburn in Nashville
Michigan St in Detroit
Duke in Charlotte
maybe Marquette could get lucky and draw Auburn- but the other 2 are pretty much 100% road games. That just is the nature of being a 10 seed.
