Twilight Zone, It's a Good Life, Felon Roberts
So tonight during the game and especially at halftime, everyone's favorite loves to hear himself screech and puffs a horrible t shirt basket game like it was game seven of the World Series Roberts, I thought of the classic Twilight Zone episode...

It's a Good Life.

The one with the 8 year old boy who had special powers and basically "wished away" most of the town in Peaksville, Ohio in order to indulge his childlike often evil mind. People had to think good thoughts about him because he could read minds and would wish away violators. Sometimes he turned them into weird three headed animals or whatever his mind thought. It was a great episode. No, felon does not remind me of the boy. He reminds me of Dan at the birthday party in the same episode.

The nervous townsfolk dutifully go to Anthony's for Dans birthday party. They are all a wreck. Nervous due to Anthony. Dan gets a Perry Como record and some brandy. He laments that there is so little liquor left and that since Anthony dislikes most music he cannot even play his record. As he gets drunk, he gets belligerent. He starts musing about Anthony being horrible, much to his wife's nervousness as she knows Anthony could turn on him at any moment.

When Dan realizes Anthony is indeed thinking about him, Dan says something to the effect of...screaming hysterically...blaming the mother for having him...then yelling...

WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE END THIS!!!! SOMEONE TAKE A BRICK AND BASH HIS SKULL IN AND END THIS BEFORE HE TURNS ON ME!! MORE HYSTERICAL....END THIS AND BASH HIS HEAD AND END THIS NOOOOOWW!!

(No one does and Dan gets turned into a jack in the box)

That has to be the sentiment many shared about Chuck Roberts tonight, especially at halftime. My lord. That was agonizing. No, I do not want him hurt that is just a silly hyperbolic tongue n cheek story. But, really, we come for the game. The second half, even during the parts that were not part of the getting within four points run, was better because we heard low key ads, and a lot of cheerleader butt swinging and band.

WILL SOMEONE IN THE ATHLETIC MARKETING DEPARTMENT PLEASE END THIS!!!!!

Worst communication skills I have ever seen. It is truly disturbing this is the quality of professor that Memphis hires.

Mimi is a professor at Memphis? Makes me rethink the value of my degree.

What department is he a professor in?

If it is in marketing, maybe Mimi ought to invite Chuck to sit in on a lecture or two.

The best part of it all is that it’s not even Chuck Roberts on the PA. He’s been gone for half a decade at least.

Billy Mumy and they redid it during the remake of Twilight Zone.

Wish we could wish the past two years into the cornfield.
