That is a bunch of weak sauce, bull****! Every season there are threads about how we can bring the excitement back to ODU Basketball. Get the students more involved, better halftime entertainment, better pep band, fire the coach, etc., etc. How about just be excited about getting loud for our Monarchs. Quit living in the past and wallowing in disappointments. Enjoy the games.
GO MONARCHS!!!
How about we win 1 top 50 game this year before I am ready to get excited about win totals?
How about a road win against a top 100 team? Or better yet, a road win against a top 200 team?
Our best road win is currently 203 north Texas. Our strength of schedule is 274.
Some of you guys are like know-nothing baseball fans who point to wins and losses to determine how good a pitcher is instead of looking at era, whip, k/9 etc.
If we could play Virginia Wesleyan 30 times in a row we might might go 30-0 and some of you would tout jones as the greatest coach ever while completely ignoring reality about how we got to 30-0.
Likewise we've played the single weakest schedule odu has played in the last 2-3 decades and because we've racked up an astounding 11 wins against teams 190+ or worse in the rpi all of a sudden I'm supposed to change my entire point of view that Jeff jones is not the right guy to lead us back to prominence???
WE HAVE BEATEN NO ONE WORTH A GOOD *** ****. I know cognitive dissonance is a real problem for people on this board, but we have yet to prove anything this season and my position on jones is the same as it's always been until he does something noteworthy to change it. And no beating 11 awful basketball teams and 5 decent ones doesn't move the meter.
Beating middle Tennessee state, something he's never done before, would be a good start, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. We have zero depth and they have more depth than anyone in the league. We also haven't won jack on the road.
We lost to western Kentucky........now is our chance to prove we are more than just an Also ran this year. Beat someone worth a damn.
