Western's ticket office is stupid by announcing a sellout with over 1200 students seats still available. I believe with SRO Diddle will hold close to 8300 so why not keep selling tickets in the student section. It's why the last sold out game only had 6400. I'm sure more student will show up on Sr night but the ticket office should keep selling and if they don't have a seat...stand

One other thing if you are sold out the announced attendance should be the number of seats in Diddle. A lot of other schools will list SOLD tickets even if not used....for some reason Western doesn't do that.

UTEP listed 6116 for the Western game... no way is that number close
Rice listed 4246 with Capacity 5,208 the arena wasn't half full

I don't know. Students probably know student seats are still available, and if not, the school should let them know. The fact that the rest of the place is sold out, makes it a hot ticket and will probably excite the students enough to acquire the remaining seats and show up.

Student tickets are walk up on game day and it's not really a ticket at all. Show you ID and walk through the turnstile. There's 1200 seats in the section Western put aside for students. So even if Western sold 500 of those seats and 1200 students showed up they would still get in. Just like with the Middle game some would be standing. But if only 600 show up and the Western did not sell tickets in that area you have what you had for the FIU game....500 to 600 empty seats. A lot of those could have been sold. I know 4 people that walked up to the ticket office 45 minutes before the game....closed and sold out on it. I'm sure others called and got the same answer. Announced attendance was 1300+ less than the Middle game that was "sold out"

I completely see where you are coming from, but what happens when students turn out like they did for MTSU game? Roughly 1,600 students showed up. That is already 400 more bodies than seats. If you’ve sold 500 of those seats then you’ve got 900 bodies without seats. At that point you are turning students away, which IMO should be avoided at all costs until the demand is consistently there. Then you can start some sort of student ticket system. But until then I feel like we need to let every student we can into the building. Those students are how we grow the fanbase.

Or at least sell them on Craigslist.

No student will be turned away theres a lot of standing room only. I believe the highest attendance since Western downsized from 13k was in 02-03 and 8300 showed up for the conference tourney.

If this keeps up something will need to change...maybe have student to pick up a actual ticket on Wednesday for a Saturday game and Monday for Thursday game. Then sell the remaining tickets and send out emails to students if its not sold out .

But for once this is a good problem to have...just need to find a way to sell as many tickets as possible. A lot of those buying last minute tickets will be season ticket holders the next year....

might be the cheap seats but still season ticket holders. Actually those seats are about all that is left. 98% (if not higher) of the middle and corner sections are sold out even in down years.

The Bowling Green fire marshal must not have the same total and unquestioned power of his Norfolk counterpart.

When FBI is done they won't have much for players either.

Glad to see the game with ODU is sold out. Should be a nice environment for the game between two good teams.
