Actually it’s 5 home games and one can be on a neutral field so only 4 “home” games are required, I know it’s tricky for you being an ACC fan where Da U fake college football team Miami resides. Miami has never owned a stadium or played a home game. They would have to shut their football program down if the NCAA banned the use of schools borrowing NFL stadiums. And yes, I’m aware of USF & Temple being forced to shut down football if that rule is implemented. I’m totally fine with that.

BB777, what the hell are you own? Yes, the neutral sight game may count if the Indy is listed as a home team. I was just stating they are supposed to be 5 home games, an FCS is allowed to be used. So in theory, yes it could be 4 home games if there is neutral site "Home" game. The rest of you comment I have no clue what you are talking about or even why bring it up. 01-wingedeagle

Hey msm96wolf,
I’m sorry. The Arky St Miami thread was still hot on my mind when I posted this to you. I let it spill over to here. My bad.

No problem. life is to short to get upset of a message board. I just love college football. For me, the real ACC died when Syracuse and Pitt were added. P5 is just a corporate entities now. I see alot of the AAC dealing with what the ACC dealt with starting in the 90's.

Now back to the topic, Fresno and NMSU just signed a H/H for 2019/20 http://www.fbschedules.com/2018/02/new-m...ll-series/

Now this is a great get for NMSU. The MWC schools are really helping out NMSU as Wyoming, Fresno, Hawaii and of course New Mexico are doing home and home games with them. This could work out (Independence) UTEP plus a regional FCS like NAU combined with these MWC schools and a couple SB schools and NMSU has a very solid regional schedule.

Yes, the Fresno H/H is huge for NMSU. Home game in 2019, which we really needed,
plus an opponent fans in Las Cruces will be excited to watch.
As you pointed out, the MWC schools have been very willing to schedule H/H. NMSU will be playing many more MWC teams as an independent than as a member of the Sun Belt, which should further help attendance.

With 5 independents besides ND who probably will only play Army and BYU in the group of 5, the 5 independents can schedule each other late in the year (October / November) to help scheduling problems when others turn to league play. Over several years as schedules get filled NMST should be able to schedule annually, 4 independents, at least 4 MW schools with one being the annual NM game, UTEP annually, an FCS game, 1 or 2 P5 money games, and fill the rest of the schedule out with western SB and CUSA schools. 07-coffee3

I am really pulling for NMSU. Hats off to these MWC schools for scheduling H/H games with NMSU. (Great bowl victory has to have helped the overall situation)

Long term, I just don't know how NMSU gets in a conference for all spots. Now that leagues can a CC game with only 10 members... no one is expanding. Hell CUSA probably wishes it could drop about 4 teams...

RE: Good pick up for NMSU
The 2019 schedule is at 10 games, and the options are pretty limited to get to 12. They would be at only 8 if it were not for Liberty. They are maxed out with 3 P5 revenue games, and already have an FCS school. They need two G5 games, and preferably hosting both

Realistically, there only three (3) schools left in play for an October date and only two can start a series on the road at New Mexico State: Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State. The third, Georgia State, could host New Mexico State, but a game in Las Cruces would have to be pushed out until at least 2022 if not later -- and it's problematic for them to play after September (filled for NMSU) anyway. That is it for options. A couple of other schools have open dates, but they are either only for September (e.g., FIU) or almost certainly for hosting an FCS school (schedule pattern, plus need for a home game).

So basically it comes down to getting either App State or CCU to come to Las Cruces in October (either the 12th or the 26th) and a return game later (2020 most likely for App St or 2021 for CCU). I think each are about equally likely, and it's probably an either or, not a both situation. The 12th game, really doen't have any options. I am pretty sure it'll wind up being a 2nd FCS school.

2020, the Aggies have 7 scheduled, but 3 are home games already. My WAG is they get scheduled by some P5 school in November and probably one in week zero or Oct 10th. They'll add an FCS opponent, and they'll host a G5 on Sep 26th, and have the return game possibly for their 2019 opponent in mid-October. So that should work out with 5 home games.

2021 has 7 games, this time 4 home games. Again pencil in two P5 road games, an FCS home game, the return game for that G5 opponent on Sep. 26, 2019 in mid-October, and you are at 11. Amazingly this year looks fairly solid.

2022 and 2023 are too far out and incomplete to say much. Hopefully they land somewhere by then.

One pattern that has emerged is that old WAC schools, especially those that went to the MWC are answering the phone and helping NMSU out (Hawaii, SJSU, Fresno St, Utah State), as also some SBC schools (Texas State, ULL, Georgia Southern). What is curious is the lack of old guard MWC schools and CUSA schools save rivals New Mexico and UTEP.

Well they do have Wyoming H&H along with New Mexico. Both are founders of the WAC & MWC.
That leaves Colorado St, Air Force, UNLV & San Diego St as the other MWC schools in the MWC old guard. They’ll never get home games with Air Force. Also count out Colorado St, SDSU at this point probably (and Boise of course) But maybe UNLV & Tulsa with the history they had in the big west/MVC?

Yes, Texas St, UTSA, UNT are obvious ones. I'd even add in Rice as Rice might look at as a probable Win.

True statement.

Also, we played H&H with NMSU not too long ago and I seem to remember some gripes about how one of the dates got rescheduled. They’ve had a tough go of it so the request for flexibility was probably justified.

NMSU only needs two games for 2019, one home and one on the road. Besides the schools you mentioned, there is Kent State, FIU (needs two games), FAU, UTSA, Air Force and UAB. There is no rule that I am aware of that limits the number of money games in a season, so they could play another road money game. Florida and South Carolina need a game.

NMSU looks good for football scheduling for the next six seasons starting in 2018. I don't see the pattern on old schools in the MWC. They have a home-and-home series with Wyoming. They are playing at San Diego State in 2021, which is the completion of a home-and-home series which started in 2013 with a game in Las Cruces.

Boise State's schedule is full through 2023. Colorado State is full through 2021. UNLV and Nevada are full through 2020. UNLV is looking to upgrade their home schedule. They have home games with Cal, Arizona State and Louisiana Tech in 2020 with the move into the new stadium. So all things considered, they have done a very good job of scheduling overall and with all MWC schools.
