Pierce gets the game ball. He was too quick for either of our big men and he did a fantastic job distributing the ball and scoring from the FT line in the middle of the zone. Put a big man there who can't hit that jumper and UNCW wins that game.

And Zane Martin averaged 30 pts in his 2 games for Towson.

Pierce averaged 25 pts and 11.5 rebounds in his 2 games.

Lots of great POW options to choose from.

Pierce will get his fair share of POW awards over the next 2.5 years for sure.

I just wonder what last year's team would have done with this year's heart. This is the toughest, most resilient bunch that i have ever watched play. I am so proud of the way that they have played this year.

Pierce is PERFECT to kill the soft spot in zones at the FT line and play a high low game with Nate. Justin has a sweet mid range jumper, can drive, and dish. If you keep Nate on the low block, you can’t play tight on our shooters on the 3 pt line, D up Justin on the foul line and deny Nate down low. You just can’t. Get the ball to Justin and let him score/make a play and we will crush zones.

JP can also crash hard for an offensive rebound from that position too.

Yeah, we'd be in a world of hurt without Harrison. He allows Knight to play aggressively and, I'm sure, pushes in practice.

I'd love to see Harrison play 8-10 minutes/night from here on out. He has shed weight and is playing better than when I first saw him at the homecoming scrimmage. I'm impressed by the effort he puts out. An aggressive Harrison and rested Nate are a good combo.

Rowley, Loewe and Tot are also solid contributors off the bench. If the 4 of them can book 32+, (preferably plus) total productive minutes off the bench, that should be sufficient to rest the starters.

I did really like JP in the high post with the big guys down low and 3 point shooters around the perimeter. There are a lot of options out of that set vs a 3-2, 1-2-2, or 2-3 zone.

Lots of good options for the player of the week, but Cacock would be my third choice...

Watching the highlights posted, I wish the UNCW broadcast had been spliced in for Justin's follow-up slam and one, in order to capture his yell.

I think we are starting to see senior reality kick in for David, Connor, Ollie, and Cole. Every game is more and more precious for those guys. Gotta leave it all out there. Connor's rundown of that loose ball at halfcourt past Talley and feed to David was a prime example. Think this team's best basketball is ahead.

Worthy comment from McGrath in his postgame that he expected the Tribe to be leg weary in the second half after the Towson game and bus trips, but it didn't happen and was a tribute to their conditioning. Have said all along that this is a much better conditioned team than in the past and is making a big difference in the ability to close games out. Will still be key for the bench to really step up in this stretch run to preserve these guys for the tournament.
