MSU...
ESPN smelling blood in the water after the Nassar scandal and now going after Dantonio and Izzo. This won't end well. But could be great for us! (and scUM)

RE: MSU...
Before all is said and done, MSU's entire athletic department, administration, board of trustees, and more will be wiped clean. Starting over. Bad, bad look for the university. Claims of cover-ups abound. This is only going to get messier. It's all made worse when considering the multiple issues the school and athletic department had in the years PRIOR to this whole Nassar thing. What a toxic culture.

All of my MSU friends are mortified by the whole situation.

Not saying you're wrong, but haven't seen that anywhere - locally or nationally.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the Ingham county prosecutors office gets a closer look from the feds. Long rumored to be MSU athlete friendly

I read it in the Cincy Enquirer and people reporting on Twitter. Probably speculation with unnamed sources, but that whole athletic department is getting nuked.

Speculation.

Haven't seen anything like that on si.com, FREEP, or Lansing STATE JOURNAL, for example.

Doesn't mean it won't happen though.

Good. They need to get knocked down a peg or two. They’re not all that but boy they sure act the part. The degree will open a door but the rest is up to you. I’ve come across a lot of dumb azzz college educated people over the years. Hope the victims find some peace through this process

RE: MSU...
I have nothing against MSU, always thought it was a fine university, and that Izzo and Dantonio were good coaches-class individuals.

But anybody who covered up-didn't report what Nassar was doing or instances of athletes abusing-assaulting women has to go and if appropriate (evidence) be prosecuted.

Well, the freep has a big picture of Dantonio and Hollis on its website with a headline reading "Dantonio under fire", so that can't be good.

Big time sports is a sleepy business. Microcosm of our society I’m afraid. Money corrupts.

Now I see it ("Dantonio and Izzo under fire"), must have been posted since I was last on there.

No, not good for them or MSU.

Well, they want the big stage. Now they got it! Careful what you wish for. I know a CHILD who was under the care of that animal. She was an adopted child from a region of the world known for its gymnastics prowness. She told her mother about the animals behavior, but the cry’s for help were dismissed. Hope he gets what’s coming to him now and the afterlife.

This is half right, about blood in the water. On one hand, you need to make sure justice is done. On the other hand, you don't want a mob that burns down the castle with everyone in it, just because the baron was a beast.

If those two coaches have issues, fine, but whipping up a frenzy using outrage from a potentially entirely separate issue is unseemly. There may be connections to Nasser, but I didn't see it. To be honest, I see a lot of people pleasurably cashing in on the outrage, but when the next outrage occurs, they'll move on and the culture isn't changed thoroughly and properly.

One of my former players was enjoying the whole situation as a UM fan. I love seeing justice done, perhaps too much, but this isn't entertainment.
