If you read THIS you might just be sickened at the stuff that has been going on up there for years. The fact that MSU was more worried about its image and the resulting lack of transparency just makes the whole situation much worse.

Heads will roll there and deservedly so. We knew of several incidents there but the sheer volume of incidents that never saw public exposure is staggering.

This is awful from every angle. Over 150 girls abused, over a dozen (reported) claims ignored and covered up, a completely tone-deaf administration. They deserve this downfall.

MSU is worse than Penn State, and I never thought anyone would earn that distinction.

Looks like Dantonio is claiming no wrong doing and that he's not resigning...

Also looks like the Fed's are involved and nobody is safe in E. Lansing... I honestly think Izzo is going to be done... Dantonio will hang on as long as he can but eventually be gone... Doesn't look good...

Heads will roll there and deservedly so. We knew of several incidents there but the sheer volume of incidents that never saw public exposure is staggering.

The OTL report was initiated 3 years ago. MSU made every attempt to prevent names and incidents from getting to ESPN, including heavily redacted (probably 80%) documents that were worthless. To the point where MSU had to be taken to the MI state Supreme Court over the info requested.

A former Ingham county prosecutor that intimidated a student raped by 2 basketball players. She did such a good job that she is currently on staff as an MSU title IX investigator.

Dantonio had made comments following last years allegations against 3 of his players that are now an outright lie. Saying that it was the first time in his tenure as HC of these type of charges against his players. Before that incident a student OD’d after suffering from PTSD from a gang rape by MSU football players. After her death her mom found her diary detailing the violent acts against her and naming all 4 players. The mother then went to MSU police with the diary and the investigation went nowhere. A football player was seen being interrogated on police video denying knowing of the incident but admitting to hearing teammates boast of "running trains".

The rape allegations against MSU basketball players Appling and Payne had to have been known to Izzo. They continued to play and the investigation effectively ended when the prosecutor told the victim ‘do you know you are making allegations against the MSU basketball team’? ‘If You can’t handle questions from me how will you hold up in a trial’? This the former prosecutor who is now employed by MSU. And the Travis Walton case of assault after punching a woman in a EL bar. Then months later accused of being part of a gang rape. At the time he stayed on as an undergrad student assistant.

Hollis is a lying POS. He coincidentally "retired" when this 3 year OTL story was coming out. ESPN submitted 11 questions Wednesday morning to MSU and Hollis for the story, so he definitely knew what they were bringing up this afternoon.

Edit: just realized you linked the story and it is more concise and even worse than the 1 hour OTL show, which I just saw and regurgitated above.

RE: MSU...
Former MSU President Simon’s comments regarding PSU & Sandusky incidents.

At the time, in President Simon’s other role as the chair of the NCAA’s Executive Committee, she said, “People make mistakes, and some of those are purposeful and premeditated, and if you just take the Penn State experience, pretty pervasive.”

She sought to restructure the NCAA’s system of violations “to incentivize people doing the right thing, and the right thing is saying something when you see something and doing something after you said something. It’s really that simple.”

I know the Payne/Appling assault victim well. She is one of the nicest and most caring people I’ve met. Incredible family as well (we attended the same church). I was shocked to learn about this and it’s devastating to learn what MSU did to keep this quiet.

If there’s ever a reason to institute the death penalty, this might be it. Except the NCAA isn’t exactly innocent either. Seems they’re entangled in this mess as well. Also not terribly surprising.

There was a report last night that the NCAA did know, but not many specifics.

We'll know this is all serious if the reporting starts hammering Joe Schmo, unknown Title IX compliance officer, it's the low level bureaucrats often most responsible for these things, who deserve the harshest sentence.

Lotta circling the wagons at the RCMB. They're angry that fingers are being pointed at their anointed men's basketball and football coaches. While Izzo and Dantonio obviously not directly linked to Nassar, as has been reported, there's been a lot of sexual assaults at MSU that handled and I'll say "tidied up" internally.

Anything that happens to Izzo and Dantonio will just be part of the natural process of the anema that the athletic department will be receiving.

The least surprising part of all this

RE: MSU...
Perhaps the most troubling thing I heard this week was from on our local ESPN radio affiliate...

“Every athletic director in the country tonight is losing sleep over this. They’re laying awake thinking either 1) I hope they don’t find out about our own issues. 2) I hope there isn’t something like this going on in our athletics that I don’t know about.”

It was a great point the radio personality made, and very scary at the same time. What MSU did is absolutely reprehensible, but it’s not far fetched to believe this is going on all over the country.

She is incredibly brave. I can't imagine how awful everything was for her.

RE: MSU...
Brenda Tracy is a name that isn't getting much mention but shows the delusional mentality in East Lansing. She was the girl gang raped by several Oregon State players when Reilly was the coach. She started a advocacy program where she goes to campus and addresses programs about assault . The NCAA has involved her in their sexual assault prevention programs. Seems last April she called Izzo offering to talk to his players after hearing rumors of numerous assault issues within the program. She does get paid to speak but considering these are multi million dollar programs and the risk of millions of dollars of lawsuits can be pending, several schools have brought her in. She talked to Izzo and he basically blew her off denying his program had a problem. She came away thinking he blamed the victims. They have a big problem in East Lansing and these delays of responding to the Nassar goof and other issues is going to raise their lawyer fees many times. I see Magic Johnson just called for firing anyone holding onto info regarding the cases.

Izzo was about as prepared for the Maryland press conference as his former bosses were last week during the Nassar trail. That school is running itself.

The MSU student body continues to show more leadership than any of the 'leaders'.

Izzos done. MSUs a dumpster fire. This publicity is always bad. In light of recent developments in Hollywod and D.C. the timing couldn’t be worse for them

Disagree. Her sitting in courtroom seems disingenuous at this point.
