Former MSU AD comes out swinging.

I raise the odds of Izzo departing to 60/40.

RE: MSU...
MSU would be crazy keeping these coaches. The cloud would never go away. They can bring in top name D1 coaches for both sports if they hire a ethics based President. The last one was a money generator who turned a deaf ear.

The whole thing is sad and highlights the snowball effect of big $ college athletics. Folks get so caught-up in the $$ and the pressure, they neglect the people.

Penn State, MSU, Louisville aren't the only ones. Just the ones who have been caught.

The snowball continues to roll down the hill....

John Engler is now running the show as interim president and his old adversary Jim Blanchard is the "senior advisor." This will be interesting...

They ought to de-emphasize sports for a few years, show Izzo and Dantonio the door until they get their **** together, but it's Sparty so who knows.

Good decisions.

Bottom-line is they understand how to "govern" and are ideal choices for an interim basis. They will keep MSU from imploding during this crisis.

RE: MSU...
My comments from another forum:

It may just take 1 more former colleague of Allswede’s to corroborate what was going on. In the OTL report she stated that several co-workers also quit due to the dissatisfaction from the environment of the Athletic Dept covering for MSU athletes. Or she may have enough on them with the victim’s statements for an outside investigation to find the athletic dept, campus police, EL police and maybe the prosecutors office complicit in a serious coverup.

What is compiled in the 3 year ESPN investigative report is damning. Even the optics of MSU resisting the fact finding of ESPN and being taken to and losing in the MI Supreme Court is terrible. If you have nothing to hide why redact the hell out of what you “handed over”.

Izzo and Dantonio May have enough fall guys to escape being directly implicated or not, time and a thorough investigation will tell. But the current and rightful groundswell of intolerance for sexual predators in Hollywood, politics, athletics & society in general will make it untenable for leaders of guilty departments and teams to continue.

RE: MSU...
As for Dantonio and Izzo its a situation of plausible deniability... I am CERTAIN they both knew they were taking advantage of a culture and administration that allowed them to keep players on the field/court that otherwise should have been suspended or IN JAIL! That alone should be premise for their removal... The culture is a cancer that has infected the entirety of MSU and therefore NOBODY should be safe...

RE: MSU...
The green quicksand keeps swallowing more Spartans. The gymnast coach is now reported to have been under State police investigation over a year ago. Travis Walton who told ESPN he knew nothing of the bar assault now changes his story with a well scripted release yesterday, likely from his lawyer. Izzo couldn't answer questions correctly at Maryland regarding Waltons connection to the team even though the kid lived in his basement. Today the victim reveals the judge issued MSU/Izzo a court order to allow Walton to travel out of state. Hollywood movie next

Tony Paul interviewed the Travis Walton accuser

http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/...110173138/

The smearing taking place in the comment section and at RCMB is surreal. The lengths that MSU fans are going to shield Izzo from any responsibility for Walton is amazing.

Does not surprise me.

Michigan State University is a bloated, dirty school to the core and the People's Republic of East Lansing will do anything to cover-up and protect it.

Justice is being served there.

Proud to be a Western Michigan Bronco!
