That was a fantastic article. It's been a lot of fun watching these two guys play these last 4 years. Two all time greats.

A lot of people missed history being made last night. That's on them.

I listened to it on Tunein. It's a shame that Alan isn't around anymore to be able to congratulate HaHa.

I've been one of the uninformed who was hard on Lee and I was wrong. Its infuriating though to listen to so called fans who refuse to believe he is playing hurt. Got into a twitter fight with a fan who said he was faking.

This is one of my favorite teams ever.

I saw Alan Ogg back at home at Walmart in Gardendale not long before he passed away.

With his demeanor you would never know that he was a former pro NBA player.

A great article to salute 2 of our great players and by an author whose input on the pages of the "fishwrapper" will be sorely missed by the Blazer Nation.

Who is the recruit he is talking about? Jude? Boyce?

Alan was a great guy. He didn't even go out for basketball in high school. He was just an ordinary student, and a tall one at that. He wasn't the least bit interested in basketball. Gardendale High School's basketball went to Alan and asked him to join the basketball team. Alan loved music. Basketball was secondary. Most college basketball players live and breathe basketball. He was not one of those.

& I have mentioned it quite a few times, but I attended Gene Bartow's basketball game before Ogg's (& my) senior year of high school.
I was matched up with him on the 2 on 2 teams. He was one of the top players so I was probably that same distance away from being the worst.

I also remember Chris Thomas & Eddie Collins at the camps (probably the previous year)

I went to at least one session of Gene's camp at Indian Springs every summer from seventh grade on. No AC in those dorm rooms. No fancy rec center with pool and lazy river. Just basketball all day and into the evening, the only breaks being meals and a guest speaker.

GREAT times.
