XFL coming back
Will we see more Sunbelt players playing after college with it coming back?

What cities are the teams going to be in?

Thoughts?

RE: XFL coming back
There's a number of former Sun Belt players playing in the multiple indoor leagues and Canada. So I assume we'll have some in the xfl too

You watch Sun Belt Football on a weekly basis dude. So let’s not scoff at minor league football.

RE: XFL coming back
Been said there won't be the gimmicks, like last time. If done right, and it has been done right very seldom, a minor league football league will work. And they need an agreement with the NFL. Let players thet are practice squad or third string guys get reps in the XFL.

As far as cities are concerned, with it looking more and more like Birmingham will get a new metro stadium, I'd expect them to be high on the list.

They are saying 8 teams to start with, maybe pro football returns to San Diego and Oakland, probably Orlando as well. Possibly Memphis, San Antonio. Imagine a team in Canton, OH playing in the Hall of Fame stadium.

Play begins in 2020.

I think Birmingham is a safe bet. As well as San Diego and St Louis with them not have NFL teams anymore.

My Guess:

West
San Diego
San Antonio
Oklahoma City
Salt Lake or Honolulu

East
Orlando
Memphis
St Louis
Birmingham

I know a stadium that would be perfect for an XFL team.

I don't see Honolulu getting it, at least not initially. Just to far out there. But maybe Mexico City. Is there an available stadium in Salt Lake?

Edit: for Salt Lake or Oklahoma would require them to play at on campus stadiums.

I think they want to be in cities that are not currently home of a NFL team.

Honolulu because they lost the Pro Bowl and is one of the largest cities in the west that currently does not have a NFL team close by.

The New XFL is going to be family friendly and patriotic hints the new (red, while, and blue logo) I think Mexico City is going to be a hard sell.

Travel costs will nix Honolulu I think. Startup league doesn't need that cost.

When will this season be played? Personally the best time of year for attendance would be in the Summer (prior to the NFL WEEK 1). If summer is chosen then dome teams would be wise in the South. I would assume that night games would also be necessary as well for attendance.

It will be a winter/spring season. They want week 1 to be the weekend between the NFC/AFC championship games and the Suoer Bowl. So, this weekend would be week 1. To me, this weekend will always be Senior Bowl week and weekend.

Not sure this is the best idea, if they waited until May or so, people will be getting hungry for football, not sure how much people want second rate football right after the season ends.

I'm gonna have to agree with this.

Not sure he's capable of doing this without it being raunchy and gimmicky. When things get tough, that is his comfort zone and where he will drive this thing.

I wish there was a viable NFL minor league, that was in conjunction with the NFL. But that is called NCAA. There are a lot of college kids that should have a real football(not CFL, AFL) avenue to make a living and get another chance to prove their worth in the professional ranks.
