Very solid - stage set for Thursday’s showdown against Middle. Biggest game of the year so far! Didn’t think I would feel this way - but beating Middle means more to me than beating VCU. GO MONARCHS!!!

We've never beat them and they've knocked us out the cusa tournament twice, one being our almost ticket to the dance. Damn right I wanna beat them. I just hope we don't get so up for them, win, then go and lose to uab.

This is where I am. We currently have a SOS of 252 and have lost to every team we've played that is not irrefutably bad. We do seem to be getting better, however. A MTSU win will start to move my perception that we are a solid team that doesn't lose to bad teams to believing that we are a good team that has a chance to make something happen in the Dallas Cowboys practice facility in March.

It’s a great time to be a Monarch fan today! Things may not go our way this coming week and beyond - but the possibility exists we will sweep Middle and UAB. Extremely exciting times - need to enjoy the moment!

I completely agree - and I think the loss to WKU was good for our players to experience true big game pressure at home - and, quite frankly, not perform. I truly believe/hope they will be ready this go round. Our shots didn’t fall against WKU, but I like our chances against Middle if they do. And if we can beat Middle, I would hope the UAB game would be a sellout.

Also JJ said in post game he felt like he put added pressure on the team by asking a lot of fans to come out, making the game bigger than it was so he wasn't going to do that this time.

I don't think we folded under pressure. We were tired in the second half and couldn't make plays.

Good call on his part. No extra pressure is needed for Thursday. I can only imagine the pressure our players feel - and not wanting to let the fans/us down. Hopefully they enjoy the moment...and it would certainly be sweet if they win:)

I think JJ acknowledged this too, but in his opinion, we were tired partly because we exerted too much energy in the emotions of “the big game.”

Being lazy and IT-challenged, if the game is not televised or on ESPN3, I default to the Ted/Dave radio broadcast. That's fine for most game-situation purposes for this old dog.

But I will say that I regret not being able to see the reaction of the bench when Alfis hit his three. Ted (or maybe it was Dave) said that they were all going nuts.

It was Alfis's first field goal, period. Hoping for many more.

They were all on their feet going crazy! I think I saw an electric air guitar by someone!

I hope it was his shooters touch!:). Wonder if he can play and eventually see real minutes.
