Geez. Give a f'in rest. We won. Celebrate.

Scootie said something he shouldn't have. That coach doesn't do that for no reason.
Maybe, but Coach doesn't stick his finger in an opposing players face. That's more of a no no
He got a T over it. But the refs talked to Scootie too. And he was not in his face but a good 5-7 feet away. A 59 year old coach doesn't go after a player like that for no reason.

Having a reason to do that does not make it right.
Some UTEP fans on Twitter are saying he should be fired for what happened. Probably would feel different if he was winning.
He will be at the end of the year. Even though Floyd said good things about him.
"Larry Eustachy was the National Coach of the Year and worked for me," Floyd said following Monday's game versus Lamar. "I had another guy, John Brady, who was at LSU and was the National Coach of the Year. He worked for me. Randy Bennett has done the best job in the United States at Saint Mary's University, a very, very difficult place. He worked for me. Kermit Davis worked for me. Phil Johnson is better than all of those guys."

Nate is coming along well. Scootie has been trying to do too much for the last 5-6 games. 0-4 from 3. He shouldn't be taking more than 1-2 threes per game. Or none.

I didn't think Nate deserved that T, he did gloat a bit towards a UTEP player. Sullivan needs to check that elbow. It cost him at Marshall but they didn't call it here, I might've if I was reffing. They did let them play for the most part as I saw a lot of pushoffs by both teams not called.

The UTEP coach may have thought Bryant was clapping because their big guy went out with an injury. It happened right after that.

Nate was running his mouth and taunting all first half...it was a culmination "T"

Nate does that too much. And Coke, too often after a dunk, will stare down an opponent. Scooties situation was possibly caused by what was perceived as taunting or celebrating an injured player. That kind of stuff just does not need to happen and the refs agree.
Little things like that are cumulative & games can get out of control. Refs don't want that. Fans don't wan't it either.
Smile at your teammates, not your opponent. You can celebrate good plays without taunting or gloating. Let the other team get the Ts.
These kind of situations can be the difference between a win or a loss in close games.

The stat sheet initially showed him playing 0 minutes and attempting a 3. But I didnt remember him getting off the bench. Later they changed the stat to show an extra missed 3 for gueye and removed Lavender as having played.
As for why, same as most games I suspect. Our other options are better options particularly from outside. He could have been put in with 2-3 minutes left but that's almost an insult to a 4th year Jr.

I am starting to think Scootie has just hit a freshman wall. Just seems a little bit less explosive and so he ends up forcing contested shots. I wish we had a bye week, he needs a week off to get his legs back.
I think opponents just know what he can do and try to take it away from him.
Same thing happened with one of WKUs freshman, Ohlmer. Shot great for the first part of the season. Then teams realized he really doesn't have anything except an outside shot so they guard him closer and he cant shoot when defended well.
Scootie needs to take what they give him without forcing things and trust his teammates more. He only had 2 assists but could have had 4-5 with better decisions.

We haven’t been winning vs good competition. What’d we expect?
I don't know. Maybe support them win or lose and not be a bandwagon fan.
That would be my expectation of a fan base.

With Darling and Scootie, plus Ryan Boyce coming in next year, Blazer fans better get used to a cockiness to rival that of Jack Kramer and AJ Johnson. As long as they back it up, I think its great.
Turnovers & free throws for the other team on Ts are not great. Confidence is fine. Taunting/gloating/celebrating an injured player is not.
(And I don't think Scootie was celebrating an injured player but their coach might have)
In close games, one T, one turnover, one free throw can be the difference between winning & losing. I want to nip that in the bud so it does not cost us a game.
