RE: MBB vs BG
Maybe it's just hard to enjoy the moment when you are living in it. Certainly on espn3 we don't get a ton of facial expressions, high fives, slaps, scowls, etc. Or maybe just doesn't know how to react to a game that went the way it did last night. Truth be told, that hasn't happened much in his tenure.
Anyone that was there-----where's there a lot of smack talk going on? I know the first game was feisty and there were four technicals called last night.........

MM definitely does not smile much but the worst case of ripping a player a new one that I ever heard was by Borovich at Toledo one year. He would have been banned on all social media (lol) for life.

Yes, it was a physical game, the refs allowed a lot last night in terms of contact
I think there is a lot of talking in every game
For the record, Im just tired of every game, both football and basketball, the only button our coaches have to push is "the im the biggest azzhole in the room button"
im not saying you cant get on a player, everyone seems to default to it being accepted and ok, there are times for it, there are ways to do it and ways not to do it, good leadership and bad leadership can be found in those tactics
but it cant be your only play, eventually there has to be some joy in the game, a reward for success, or the constant beating over the head of players wears thin on them and they just tune out and go through the motions
this is basic fundamental psychology, its not some earth shattering concept

RE: MBB vs BG
my thoughts on the game are
found it interesting that the primary ball handler basically sat out 3/4 of the game and the offense looked better, and then in his very limited minutes he lit it up from 3 - he's a dynamic puzzle at the moment
Seemed like the whole team got in some great moments - except for the techs
a great team win considering that team put it on them pretty good when we went there

Yea, that's probably why the women's team does better, they seem to enjoy playing more - and coaching could be a big part of that.

German being 5 minutes late and being punished was the best thing that could’ve happened. Monty punished his best player so the rest of the team knows they will be held accountable.

Nope, not stopping
And im fine with what he did benching Geno, 100% agreee with it, never at any point questioned that, but when the kid makes 3 threes in a row and the buildings on fire, give a clap, maybe smile once, try having some fun
thats all, it doesnt always have to be pouting poo facial expression night
Monty is just competitive and intense on the court. Off the court he is a great guy, not that anyone was questioning that. I do see where you are coming from though.
