CINCINNATI (WLWT & AP) —

Elton John is coming to Cincinnati one last time.

He will play one final Cincinnati show on Feb. 27, 2019, at U.S. Bank Arena.

John is retiring from the road after his upcoming three-year global tour, capping nearly 50 years on stages around the world. He calls it a "way to go out with a bang."

"I've had a good run, I think you'd admit that," John said Wednesday, adding that he wanted to "leave people thinking, 'I saw the last tour and it was fantastic.'"

I saw him there a few years ago... hell of a concert. It was the day Leonard Nimoy died, and Elton dedicated a song to him.

Thatbold building saw some crazy acts.

My oldest brother was in HS in the late 70’s and he framed all of the cool as hell concert ticket stubs of his in a collage..looking at the ones from the Colluseum in those years into the early 80s...holy ****.

He caught Led Zeppelin on the Presence Tour, Pink Floyd, Alman Bros., The Who when the gate crash occurred, Bowie on the Low Tour, Rush for the Farewell To Kings and 2112 Tours, Yes, Genesis on the Duke Tour, Black Sabbath in 77, Van Halen on their first headliner tour...the list goes on an on.

I saw some great concerts there but damn...

For fun I looked up the set list for the Floyd’s 1977 Show there...Good Lord. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pink-floy...76837.html

There were terrific concerts in that building. Unfortunately, the acoustics are horrible. And I was invited to a private box for one once and since they're located near the ceiling of the arena you practically needed a telescope to see the stage. A poorly designed arena that is now totally antiquated.

Saw many shows there myself including the Grateful Dead, Robert Plant, Poison, Rem, and Joan Jett. If you joined the ushers union, you could see all the shows you desire.

Saw Joan Jett warming up for Kiss once. She still goes down as the worst act I have ever seen live.
