Is the Sports Medicine facility even on the master plan yet? It's a great idea, and would be great for UAB if it were to happen, but i haven't seen anything saying we were definitely going to do it.

It is not. A feasibility study would need to be done before it gets to that stage even.

Isn't that where the intramural fields are being built? I think it would make sense to demolish the Ullman annex and build it there. So it would be in between the football facility and the future basketball practice facility and also adjacent to the olympic sports weight room/training area.

The building catty-corner to the FB Ops building, across from where the intramural fields are being built is currently being demolished...

If that's the old Food Fair/Barnes & Noble, I believe it's going to be the new beach volleyball facility since their current courts are where the new track facility is suppose to go.

The beach volleyball facility was supposed to go where the current (old) football office parking lot is located.

That location was changed so that the 3rd football practice field could be larger.

The place I'm speaking of is not in the picture, but would be at the lower right across from the Fire station, next to the interstate...

It was originally supposed to be parking for the new intramural fields next door. But I'll trust HooverBlazer.

Sounds about right. I guess it could also be additional student parking...

The old Barnes & Noble is for beach volleyball. The building Western is talking about I hadn't heard of a proposed use, but intramural parking makes sense.

Why does our tennis team play at George Ward Park?

Come to think of it, I remember seeing a campus map that had tennis courts in the Barnes and Noble area, as well.

What happened to the tennis courts behind Al's?

No idea about the layout of things now. I thought the softball field, beach volleyball courts, etc. are now where the old tennis courts used to be.

I saw it mentioned that the women's team had a match this weekend at George Ward park.

Could this just be a temporary thing & there will be new courts somewhere?

Right, but they had built some tennis courts on top of the hill behind the parking deck next to Al's across the street from Rast Hall

I don't think those were ever used for collegiate matches. I could be wrong though.

Tennis has hosted matches at George Ward Park, Lakeshore Foundation, and Highland Park. The courts adjacent to Rast Hall have been used for practice.
