Should help some of the western conferences with travel and refill when some of the schools get called up to the WAC.

Work great until teams are either robbed or kidnapped.

They are already playing some California and Texas teams in BB, FB, and Baseball "friendly" games in preseason and during seasonal gaps. CETYS especially has been competitive and winning against DII schools. They already have an offer to California Collegiate Athletic Association for Baseball and Baskettball, but could not accept it until todays vote passed. Humboldt State and Simon Frasier are trying to get them a GNAC invite for Football.

I don't think they would be inexpensive to travel to. The hassles of the border are significant.

It does point out the desperation in the West as schools drop football. I suspect the yield will be similar to the decision to allow Canadian schools, which has netted thus far a grand total of ... wait for it ... one. Simon Frazier. Actually I think they may even double that total.

For the WAC these could become viable candidates around 2030 ... if there is a WAC and WAC FCS football.

The University of Monterrey tried to get into DII a few years ago, the same time as Simon Frasier, but NCAA said no.

Oh come on now..... there is a college football all-star game held in Mexico and no one ever gets robbed or kidnapped. So chill.
