Definitely an ugly defensive battle, but Simonds takes over and hand delivers the W scoring the last 2 shots and 4 free throws in a row.

Red Wolves up on App 56-32 at the half. We have such a jekyll and hyde team this year. Sort of like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates.

This App St game has been hard to watch but we're showing some life late in the game.

Congrats Panthers . . . Would have been nice to take two in Ga. I was looking to go 1-1 on this road trip . . Soooooo .. Mission Accomplished.

If it's a similar game in your house, I definitely expect it to go the other way.

Half UTA 31 GS 29. Our shooting for 2nd consecutive game is very poor

Big comeback by Mountaineers falls short. Difference in game was Ft's, AState 21-27, Apps 12-24.

GS about to beat UTA. Hervey had a big game for UTA but we withstood it. Arlington is a far cry from what they were last year

Including this UTA game, I've watched GS games here and there, and this is what I think happens. GS lineup is loaded back-heavy with guards who are good snipers. They shoot 3s really really well when they're confident for one reason or another (home crowd, big momentum swing, etc etc). When GS guards are killing the 3s, the opposing defense spreads out, which allows Brown do his magic in space. GS kinda lives or dies by their 3pt shooters. When GS snipers are hot, opponents better play a perfect game just to keep up the pace with GS. When 3pts aren't working, GS looks like a fairly average team with a 1 star player and struggles against opponents with physical inside matchups.

TLDR- Georgia Southern games are decided by their 3pt shooters.

I would say that is true. We live and die by our 3 point shooting

Our Jekyl half beat your Jekyl half and our Hyde half was slightly less terrible than your Hyde half!

The 3 point oriented team is what Byington recruits. We tend to struggle vs teams with strong inside players

Georgia Southern needs to be at least OK from outside to beat any decent team. That said, the front court is better this year and the team figures to still be sharpshooting, but much more balanced, next year.

People were saying Jorge Bilbao was a bit player. I think everyone sees his value now.

Well, in comparison to the other starters, he was.

What he also was, was a great leader.

THAT's what they really miss with him gone. Charles and Jones as well.
