WSU fans:

Does Marshall have any assistants that will make good HC down the road? He strikes me as a coach that could/should have a nice coaching tree?

Off the top of my head I know 2 current head coaches that were assistants for Marshall. Earl Grant at Charleston was a longtime assistant, he was actually my first choice for ECU but I'm thinking he has his sights on a bigger opportunity. The other I know of is Steve Forbes at ETSU who worked with Marshall as well as Bruce Pearl at Tenn. Both are doing really well.

Chris Jans at NMSU also doing great.

Of the current assistants Isaac Brown will probably get a HC job soon. He coaches our big men. A former assistant that is probably ready to be a HC is Greg Heiar at LSU.

Marshall's coaching tree:
Zach Spiker - Drexel
Barclay Radebaugh - Charleston Southern
Dana Ford - Tennessee St
Earl Grant - College of Charleston
Steve Forbes - East Tennessee St
Chris Jans - New Mexico St

I'd be very happy with Dooley. It would be interesting to see what caliber of players he could lure to Greenville.

Honestly think at this point it is going to be Dooley. All signs point that direction, based on the information I've received.

I'll be happy with it.

RE: ECU's next Basketball Coach?
Dooley did not have his guys ready for the asun final. They were getting burnt in transition repeatedly and made no adjustments to Lipscomb's motion offense. it might make sense if he was getting ready for ecu

Here is a good piece about Dooley that comes from a Georgia blog. It gives a lot of good stats about his offensive style as well as recruiting. Joe Dooley Candidate

Here's a thought. If Memphis fires Tubby in favor of Penny, does ECU go after Tubby?

Maybe if Dooley passes on us. But I think we're going to offer, and that he is interested.
