That won’t be their only loss.

Disagree, think AAC gets 3 in. Think SMU will get a bid. Beat #2 Arizona and now at #7 Wichita State - committee loves those top 10 wins. No bad losses - 2 by 2 points and 2 by 3 points, plus at now #11 Cincy and at #20 at the time TCU.

AZ not top 10 but first 2 weeks. They lost to Tulane and Tulsa. Probably will finish with 10-11 losses. They will not be cut the slack that some schools get. So I think they will finish in last four out or close.

SMU beat Arizona on a neutral court when Zona was #2. It's why Zona was no longer #2.

But you are right that SMU will have to keep winning at a decent clip.

They also beat then ranked #14 USC

Thank you, 1016. I was dealing with Mr. Obedient last night, and didn't pull up SMU's schedule. Have watched them a couple of times, and SMU is pretty good.

Looking at the schedule, and we only play SMU once this year. Away game on Valentine's day. So another opportunity for a good win.

Thank you. Sorry. Was looking at the SMU schedule, and of course it's their home game, hence my error.

And the computers have it as the least likely game we win the rest of the year

It certainly won’t be easy. They did lose a guard last night to injury. I think the guy was averaging 14 to 15. However, it didn’t prevent them from beating Wichita St.

If it happened, it wouldn’t be a comparable situation in any way other than coach left for a better program.

WSU still has to play: @Houston, @Memphis, @Cincy, @Temple, and @SMU...I feel like they have another L coming somewhere down the line.

My point is they drop off big time. If Marshall left, their program is going to go down. How far I don’t know. But they won’t continue dominating. Now maybe they won’t drop like we did, but they will drop. Maybe they do a better job of hiring than we did. Heck, they’re already seeing life is tougher for them in the aac. They aren’t through losing this year.

Make that at least two more. This isn’t that baby conference they came from where they went through their league like a hot knife through butter.

I think they play Cincinnati twice.

Man. Good info. That is a back-loaded conference road schedule.

WSU is beatable. However, WSU is now a NCAA Tourney lock and we currently are on the NIT bubble (maybe). At this date, I would rather be in WSU’s position than our position.

When Cal left the drop off was obvious, obviously, lol. But for awhile there we still made the tourney and had some good teams. I don't think Wichita will do any better than that if Marshall leaves. In fact, I suspect they'll do worse.
