Could have used just a little of that in the Saturday men's game.

Nice finish by the ladies. I wish I could have seen the end, but lost the ESPN feed with about 3 minutes to play

Come see the game in person. We'll save you a seat 03-lmfao

Long road trip from 14 time zones away.

Would have been a journey of > 10,000 miles and that first step would have been wet. ?

This is completely random and has very little to do with the ODU game, but Nancy Mulkey is going to be a ridiculous force in CUSA. I went to watch some film on her and look up her stats...her per 40 numbers at Oklahoma playing against some of the best competition in the country:

PTS: 14.3
REB: 9.4
BLK: 7.1 (!!!)

Considering we've been a little vulnerable to teams attacking us in the paint (although I think Chrisman's been a pretty good interior defender), if Langley + the team largely stay (knock on wood), the combo of our O + D is going to be really, really fun to watch. Which I know is by no means a novel thought, but still.

Not sure how he would go about doing that. She either likes being at Rice and wants to see the fruits of her recruiting labors, or she doesn't.

Not sure where you found those numbers . From the OU site here are the numbers for 2016-2017. What I find encouraging is that she played in all 33 games and started in 18. Her Fg% of .520 is encouraging as well. It doesn’t list min/game but have to assume she played a fairly healthy number as a freshman.
Just dawned on me that you may have taken these numbers and extrapolated them to 40 mins.

Yeah those are per 40. She only played around 10 minutes per game, which I can assume is a byproduct of her height.

Langley is going to have some nice options inside next year with the 6-6 recruit, Mulkey, Chrisham, and Ozoude.

My biggest question is how she's going to balance the minutes among 15 scholarship players who really all have a case for deserving playing time.

You want to make the coaches and players happy?
Come out to the games at Tudor and support them in Frisco at the CUSA Tourney.
Frisco could actually have a true home court feel if we come out in force to support the team!

The tourney in Frisco will be an interesting set up. There will be two courts set up and all tickets (with the possible exception of students) will be GA. The bulk of the tickets will be end court but one side of each court will be premium GA. My assumption is that you can go back and forth between games since there are no reserved seats. I sent a note to Shu asking for clarification and also asking if we should buy tickets through Rice or straight from the tourney...will pass along what I learn. Also apparently you buy one ticket and that covers both men and women.

There are some space fillers for “session” tickets on Stubhub so I assume there will be some session or single ticket sales but perhaps only through the arena. Will try to clarify that as well.

My assumption (also as yet not confirmed) is that side court sections labeled “institutional use” could seat students, band, and ticket holders affiliated with one of the two teams playing. Namely, that a Rice ticket holder might get side court for Rice games and then end court for any nonRice games. But yeah, just speculating at this point.
