Gonna Be Hard for the Grizz to Have One of 3 Worst Records
Even if Conley sits the rest of the year.

Orlando is an awful team, has gone 4 and 26 in their last 30, and now the Magic's new GM is trying to dump Fornier, Payton and Hezonga.

Atlanta at least is well coached, but is counting on a top-3 pick after letting Horford and Millsap go the past two summers.

And as of last night, Sacramento is going into semi-tank mode: " the Kings will sit at least two – and perhaps three – of their veterans in each game going forward. That group of vets includes George Hill, Kosta Koufos, Garrett Temple, Vince Carter, and Zach Randolph. Carter and Randolph didn’t get off the bench during Monday night’s loss to Oklahoma City."

Grizz got lucky that the Bulls are much better than expected. And the Lakers and Nets have no reason to tank, since neither have their 1st round pick. But getting below the Magic, Hawks and Kings seems increasingly unlikely.

I do wish our management would suck it up and admit that this team is heading nowhere. We aren't a playoff team, and a top 5 pick is significantly better than picking 11 or 12. Bringing back Conley and playing him alongside Gasol will do absolutely nothing for this franchise.

I go back and forth, KSig. Would love the one-year dip, re-load with a top pick, and then back to the playoffs next season.

But teams that lose on purpose tend to keep losing. And the top 3 players so far from last year's draft are clearly Tatum, Donovan Mitchell and Kyle Kuzma, and they went 3, 13, and 27. After that, probably Dennis Smith and Lauri Markkanen, and they went 9 & 7. So if we stay in the 5-7 slot, it might not be the worst thing.

Think it was Mark Cuban a few years back that proposed all 14 non playoff teams have the same chance for number one. Each lotto team with one ball and their logo, coming out like the PowerBall drawings they show on tv from 14th spot to 1st, shown live at halftime during the first round of the playoffs. This would definitely kill the need to tank but I wouldn't like it if some 9th place 40-42 team kept winning. It didn't matter as the NBA Board of Governors voted it down.

When Orlando drafted Shaq with the number 1 pick then barely missed the playoffs and got the number 1 pick the next year they changed the weighting as they should have.

That has always smelled like the fix was in, at least to my nose.

The tanking plan, if underway, is not working. The Griz beat the Knicks without Gasol and Conley to win two games in a row. Evans needs to be traded because he is playing well. 03-wink

The Griz won again by beating the Kings, 106-88.

Lottery draw should be public. Too many coincidences in the lottery such as Cleveland getting lottery pick when LeBron was #1 and Chicago getting first pick when Rose was 1st pick. The likelihood of this happening is so vast that even Spock and Sheldon Cooper would have a hard time computing the odds.

RE: Gonna Be Hard for the Grizz to Have One of 3 Worst Records
lets face it, the Grizzlies of 2018 SUCK at tanking.

Tyreke has to go- he is essentially a 'rent-a-player' that is killing our chances at a good pick.

JB Bickerstaff is not fit to be a tanking coach- why in the hell did he get the job? Remember Tony Barrone? perfect!

I think the Grizz should trade Tyreke, Enis,and Brandon Wright.

Starters should be Harrison,McLemore, Brooks, Davis and Martin

Ivan Rabb should get as much time as Gasol.

It is time to get rid of anyone that won't be here next year and see what we have moving forward.

this winning at a .550 pace is not getting us anywhere, I really think resting the stars, developing the role players and hoping for a great pick is a good plan for NEXT year== the Grizzlies are a year away from a team capable of winning a playoff series or more.

The Grizzlies are beating crap teams. The schedule is tougher coming up

@NO L
Philly L
SA L
Clippers W
Suns W
@Pacers L
@Pistons L
@Raptors L
Jazz W
@OKc L
OKc W
Cleveland L
@Mia L
@Boston L

I only see 4 maybe 5 wins in there. By the end of FEb we might be around 20-38

to successfully tank we are going to have to lose to bad teams too03-drunk

the bad teams lose to good teams but they also have the ability to lose to the mediocre and bad teams too. The Grizz are not the only team that would benefit from a stud in the draft.

going 30-52 sucks but not bad enough to earn a bottom 3 spot.
