Love dance guy. Love dustin. Y'all are lame if you want to take them away. They are the only two things that actually get the crowd going. Why take away the few pieces of tradition we have??

Just need to keep in mind not everyone is able to make it to every home game. They keep showing him because he causes a positive reaction from the fans. More positive reactions, more happy fans. More happy fans, more returning fans. More returning fans, more careless parking causing AdoptedMonarch deep stress.

The cheerleaders do the same moves game after game, their novelty wearing off too? Maybe Tuffy has better moves than the rest of you.

Frankly the cheerleaders are non-existent to me. I stopped even "seeing" them years ago, so, yes, they are boring.

Look if dancing old man gets people fired up, then great, keep doing it. Not asking for anybody to be stopped, just stating my own opinion. It's not gonna ruin my day if he keeps dancing, I just don't get excited about it anymore.

I haven’t missed a home game in years and I’m much much younger than most of our current fan base and happen to think the old dancing man is still as funny today as he was the first time. And the students that we begged to come LOVED him. I think that’s more telling than hoping the grumps that sit down the entire game quietly watching care.

I was and with all the talk in other threads about branding. A shirtless overweight guy is way down on my list. I wonder what out of market folks think is when they show him, probably not a lot. But that is just my opinion the same way Dustin fans like him.

I was there (as I’m sure many of you were) for the game he dropped his pants. It was an embarrassment and not easy to explain to my kids. I’m not sure what he was thinking but it was clearly extremely poor judgment. Guessing he had one too many - and I’m certainly not judging. He is lucky he didn’t get arrested for indecent exposure. Can’t drop your pants in public - never acceptable. And ODU is “classier” than that.

We shouldn't need a shirtless dancing man to wake our crowd up. We certainly didn't when I was a student.

The old geezer in me (and overweight, too) asks the question, what image does ODU want to portray at all times? And no offense to this guy who I don't know other than with his shirt off and covered in tattoos is "Not that one." I don't have an answer. We are definitely a different breed of cat. Cheerleaders provide next to nothing. Love the football band, not so much the basketball band. I sit near the dancing old guy and believe me he's not part of some admin strategy. Wife is mostly mortified when he gets up, but they are huge ODU fans and I'll give him his fun. The students were fabulous at WKU and they seemed to inspire the crowd. I've said this before, and to the admin: Open BBR at 5:30 not 6 and close it at 6:45. Don't open at the half and keep it open longer postgame. I've never understood why one effin beer or wine of soda is so damned important to people that they miss the reason they came to campus in the first place. I think it hurts us on the court. If you're looking for some way to reward bigger ODAF givers, make everything in BBR free to them and issue different coded tickets for them. Andf I doubt I'd qualify.

In addition, make the cheap beer free with the option to buy craft beer. Make the donation level higher to get in to make up for it if need be but I cannot imagine they would be losing that much money when the markups are so high everywhere else. I doubt that will ever happen again but it's still fun to dream.

I know this is a little off topic but - the admin provided towels for Sat game to everybody in the house.
I saw no coordinated effort to get the crowd into the game or start waving the towels.
Nothing by cheerleaders, students or admin.
So was this a wasted chance? I know the score at first was lopsided but it got very tight in the second half.
Would have been nice to see some kind of effort to get the crowd fired up and use the towels.

Also for a Sat night the student section was pathetic

Also interesting was that they did a very good job of getting people to light up their cell phones during the WKU intro, and it went well... then they didn't even make an attempt in the Marshall game. No mention at all.
