Three Ws in a row. This team is playing much better and remains tied for the lead in the West.

Huge road win! The Rockets never trailed in the game. Great to start 3-1 in MAC play! The Rockets have won 6 of their last 7 games

It’s really starting to look like this team has what it takes. Confidence, moxie, and shooters galore. This could be fun to watch.

Was otherwise occupied so couldn’t listen to the game or even keep up on the Board here, so just getting caught up. Nice road win—we need to ge able to sweep some teams in the West and this is a good start. I give credit when due; looks like the Rockets could have faltered a few times and almost giving up leads, but they didn’t. Good trends the last couple games.

RE: MBB @ CMU
Strong win.
Team came out like they were top 25. Fast, precise, moving the ball, draining open shots, in control on defense.
Midway through the first half we went cold and then they started getting a lot of calls and making some free throws to tighten it up. Second half started out the same way. We were called for 5 could in the first 4 minutes and weren't even playing that physical.
But over the second half we eventually re-established ourselves as the better team.
Fletcher was as good as I've seen him. Great in the midrange using a dribble to get space and then height to shoot over slightly out of position defenders.
Willie Jackson had his best game and finally seemed to find a home on the offensive glass. He is too quick for most MAC forwards around the basket and seems to be pressing a little less and realizing where he has an advantage.
Sanford again started slow but had a great second half. Had a pretty vicious dunk at a time when we needed it. Not quite JD Weatherspoon sports center kind but close.
Justin Roberts was sharp and shot with confidence. Ditto Navigato. Both really benefitted from good passing that allowed them to comfortably step into shots. Team did a lot pro style driving the lane to pass back out to open 3 point shooters.
MAC is down at the top-besides Buffalo. League probably has a better bottom third than it's had in a decade but is so-so from below Buffalo. Rockets have a real chance to win the West and finish 2nd in the league. Need to see continued improvement on defense and this recent crunch time confidence to continue to hope for a league title-we aren't quite as gifted a team as the better Coach K teams- remember the one with Juice, Boothe, Pearson, Weatherspoon, Drummond, Jonjon, Lauf, Matt Smith that couldn't make the ncaas? that team had some talent, but this one might be developing better chemistry. Need it to peak in March. Go Rockets!

Had some good times going to watch UT play at CMU. They used to do a whiteout where on their first made bucket EVERYONE threw rolls of toilet paper on the court. They'd have to stop the game to clean up the mess. Then there was Joey Baggadonuts - a rotund fan who would stand under the basket and raise his t shirt when we were trying to shoot a foul shot.

RE: MBB @ CMU
Not to take anything away from Fletcher but that Thomas Wilder kid from Western Michigan had a hell of a week also.
Thomas Wilder, Western Michigan University
Guard, Senior, Montgomery, Ill. (Quakerdale Prep)
"Thomas Wilder guided the Broncos to a split over the week, falling at Toledo and defeating MAC West foe Ball State at home. Wilder led the Broncos with 21.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the two contests. Against Toledo, Wilder notched his fourth career double-double and first this season with a game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds. Wilder against the Rockets also amassed four assists and four steals in 36 minutes played. From the free-throw line against Toledo, Wilder went a perfect, 6-for-6. Against the Rockets, Wilder scored 18 of his 28 in the first half including the first 14 points for the Broncos. On Saturday against Ball State, Wilder neared a triple-double with 21 points, five rebounds and eight assists in a 73-58 victory over the Cardinals. Wilder was lethal once again from the free-throw line, going 8-of-9 and over the two-game stretch went 14-of-15 from the charity stripe. With the 14 points against Ball State, Wilder moved into third place on WMU's all-time scoring list with 1,744 points."

Wilder is projected as a second round NBA draft choice.

I’ll be very surprised. I know he tested the waters last year but he hasn’t the size or range to play NBA point, in my opinion. He penetrates well, but in the NBA that little floater will end up in the lap of some guy in the third row instead of in the hoop. Hope he proves me wrong, but I see Europe in his future.

Wilder can play NBA defense which they actually do play these days. He can handle the ball and pass it like a pg and he can score from everywhere. At 6-2 kinda quick but with average athleticism he won't thrill NBA scouts but he could be a good backup pg in the league.
