Some moron in the state government of Hawaii, a deep blue state, royally screws up and you bash Trump.

When the medical journals get around to publishing about Trump Derangement Syndrome you'll feature prominently in their studies.

I'm no Trump fan, but there are real things to get at him over.

https://nypost.com/2018/01/30/worker-who...er-attack/

Quote:The Hawaii state emergency worker — who officials said hit the “wrong button” when he sent out a Jan. 13 inbound-missile alert that plunged the state into chaos — actually believed the Aloha State was under attack, it was revealed Tuesday.

The employee who sent out the alert warning “Ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii. Seek immediate shelter. This is not a drill” honestly believed the bombs were coming and even clicked OK when he or she was asked, “Are you sure that you want to send this Alert?,” according to a written statement the unidentified worker provided to the Federal Communications Commission.

Quote:The state emergency management agency “didn’t have reasonable safeguards in place to prevent human error” and “didn’t have a plan for what to do if a false alert was transmitted,” according to FCC chairman Ajit Pai.

“Every state and local government that originates alerts needs to learn from these mistakes,” he said during a Tuesday review.

Ige had previously claimed the employee hit the wrong button during the drill.

An investigation revealed Tuesday that a night-shift manager planned to test incoming dayside workers, but the daytime manager thought the test was meant for the departing night crew.

So the day crew was not ready when the night manager called in posing as a member of the Navy to issue the practice alert.

An off-script message broadcast to workers erroneously said “This is not a drill” before clarifying “Exercise, exercise, exercise,” but the worker who hit the alert button did not hear the part about it being an exercise, officials said.

The worker was reassigned, and Ige said the state is implementing new safeguards to prevent future confusion.

So, the worker who did nothing wrong was reassigned, but the numbnut governor who forgot his twitter password so that the mstake couldnt be corrected for over half an hour still has his job? And let me guess, the "managers" all probably still have their jobs.

What is it about democrats and taking responsibility for their failures? Let's find the nearest little person and throw them under the bus.

If he thought it was real, he most certainly did not hit the "wrong" button. Why were we fed that narrative to begin with?

firstly, if this version is true, at least they didn't fire him....

secondly, it caused a reaction that will make them more aware moving forward.....

no differently than science, a mistake can become a valid solution.....

You can bet that any in organization I worked for the managers would have faced just as serious, if not more serious, discipline because it was ultimately their responsibility. I got my ass chewed more than once for a screw up by one of my subordinates.

This is the question that needs to be answered now. If you don't know it's OK to say that you don't know. Don't make **** up and hope that you turn out right.

Understandable considering this:

Quote:During the investigation, Oliveira said the employee, who had worked at the agency for 10 years, had a history of confusing drills and real-world events. At least two prior incidents had occurred, after which corrections were made and the employee was counselled.

The warning system only works when the public trusts it. If this wasn't the first time the employee got a drill and a real situation confused then they should have been fired.

Yep, and one of the manager/leaders quit instead of facing disciplinary actions.

I would also have fired the person who didnt fire him after he had the second confused event.

which is why I initially posited, "if this story is true"....

incompetence in this situation is worthy of "adios amigo".....

personally, I would design a fully automated system to remove that element.....should've been done long ago....
