Some of the tolls in Tulsa actually require "exact change" - meaning coins only. I haven't seen a coin in years. Last time I was in Tulsa I had to run a few... alarm sounded... CB is still free.

The stupid things don't even work. A car in front of me on the way home spent about 3 minutes adding more coins trying to get it to give him a green light. I pulled up after him and put my $2.50 in the machine, and the damn thing said I still owed 30 cents, I said the screw it and just drove on.

RE: 1/13 AAC Basketball Games
I just got back from Tulsa. That was a tough win. But it was exactly what I expected. I am just glad we pulled it out. I have been attending WSU-Tulsa games for about 50 years (football and basketball) and they have always been a battle, especially in Tulsa. I was at the game 2 years ago, when we had Baker and VanVleet and were ranked #9 in the country. It was Shamet's freshmen year and Tulsa beat us by 10.
I was very worried about this game, especially coming less than 48 hours from the opening tip of our last game at ECU. Also the Corey Henderson factor scared me, I just knew he would end up scoring 30 points against us, all 3s. It turned out he only scored 14, put it felt like he hit a ton of 3s.
The game had the feel of the old Tulsa-Wichita St battles in the 1980s when we were both in the Valley. They were the best rivals we ever had and when the crowds starting taunting each other it reminded me of the good old days- the old rivalry is being rekindled.
At least our nearly 5000 or so Shocker fans were able to help Tulsa get their first sell out since 2009. We also ruined their "BLUE OUT".

Man, you all are almost as bad as Oregonians trying to pump their own gas. You do know your Kansas pike pass will work on Oklahoma toll roads if you have one, right?

It is called a "K-Tag" in Kansas and it does work great in Oklahoma. I used it yesterday and it makes going through those toll gates a breeze.
Having said that, I have never understood why the OK turnpikes only take coins and many of them require exact change. It seems like they can figure out a way to take dollar bills and credit cards in this day and age. Even the 15 year old that mows my lawn when I am out of town takes credit cards.

Good thing Wichita is here, or we'd be looking at a one bid conference.

As old as I am, and as long as I have followed Memphis basketball (attended my first game in 1952), I honestly don't recall a bigger comeback to win by that margin, that late in the game. Scored 7 points in less than 27 seconds.
Not trying to rub it in, I'm not that kind of guy, but that was a freaking miracle. I would be really down if I was a Temple fan. Sorry, guys. I don't blame you for being upset.
John Wilfong against Oral Roberts back in 87 or 88.

How could you forget this? MSU at Oral Roberts...down 7 w/ :14 to go
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ppnjpjf6c9A
I did forget it. I was overseas without internet streaming back then. Heck, if you lived anywhere outside Memphis, it was almost impossible to see a game. I moved 40+ years ago.
But you didn't read my qualifiers closely enough:
" I honestly don't recall a bigger comeback to win by that margin"
Besides not remembering that ORU game, as I acknowledged could happen, we won yesterday by 3 points over Temple. In your example, we only won by one point.
I put that in there specifically to cover anything I might have overlooked, lol. Usually, you only win by 1 or 2, and I was not going to take the time to do all that research.
But a better descriptor would have been, "the most points scored in less than one second (5) to win a game in which we trailed with a second to go."
How's that?

Good game Wichita. After that craptastic Houston game I was ready to watch us get our head kicked in. We played well and Wichita was off just enough to let Tulsa make it a toss up. I'd say you all had 40% of the crowd and they showed well. Cold, Bill Haisten is a **** writer and feels Tulsa is a nice program, but an after thought, Tulsa World sports editor probably couldn't tell you what conference we are in. Our coverage has sucked in amount and accuracy since we lost Jimmie Tramel. Newspapers have gone way down in quality in the last 10-15 years

There you go hurting my feelings again.
The AAC's NCAA tournament record has been pretty abysmal though. See below for AAC tournament wins since the league's inception in 2013:
Connecticut - 7
Cincinnati - 2
Louisville* - 2
Memphis - 1

Correct me on the above if I missed anyone. I don't think SMU, Tulsa, or Temple have won any tournament games since 2013-14 but I could be wrong.

Your proper response should have been one of...
"Well at least we make the tournament" or such.

Relations between Cincinnati and WSU fans have been pretty civil this weekend with the removal of a lone malevolent poster.
We have some exciting games ahead this week for the teams contending for at-large bids. Should be a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, I have never been to either Tulsa or Wichita, thus I don't know about the development along the Arkansas River for each. However ... with the comments on the roads and apparently 5,000 Shockers' fans making the trip ---- would some entrepreneur next year offer a river cruise/dinner/package with shuttle from the landing spot in Tulsa to the arena? Would be something neat if pulled off economically.

Familiarity breeds contempt sometimes. Nobody from either school's fanbase really knows much about the other one yet. Probably not many from either one have ever stepped foot in the respective towns.
UC and Memphis used to be pretty chippy and was a fun rivalry but other than possibly Tubby Smith 99.99% of the UC fans would be hard pressed to come up with the name of anyone on the court nowadays.
