I agree. I saw nothing that would necessitate her being detained in that manner.

She’s owed more than that. Disgraceful. And also the fact that some of these board members weren’t even voted on by the people? Are you kidding me? Terrible.

Mach, who voted for Tina Smith in Minnesota? Should she not vote anything until after we have an election in 2018?

For the record of the five elected members, three are democrats and *1* is a republican.

We’re you being sarcastic? I’m curious. I have thought about this. In the areas where they have taken away bargaining rights I have always wondered why they don’t do that. It would have to be stat wide or county wide. Give them two weeks notice or have a mass sick day? I’m not feeling good. Stressed out over losing my bargaining rights. **** would get done. The other thing that we did as a school district. We just worked our contract. Every teacher HAS to do it. You all walk in together at 7:15 and leave at 3. No brief case. No pens or paper better bein your hands fro or too. All of your job is done in your contracted day. There are MILLIONS of things that teachers do outside of their contracted day that gum up the works of a good school. If you are in one, parents are right quick to understand what you do and they simply won’t tolerate it. We had a superintendent and treasurer convince some board members to play it rough on us in negotiations. We didn’t agree. We worked the contract and by week2 they were capitulating. They wanted to cut our insurance and freeze our salaries. We didn’t want our insurance cut Yada yada.

Two weeks later we got a proposal we could live with. Now maybe in crappy schools you have teachers that only work the contract. In ours you work hard and go the extra mile. I tell you I scoff at the idea you can’t get rid of a teacher. We get rid 10% of our new hires. If you are not effective you don’t last.

Nothing sarcastic about my comment at all. I believe in capitalism, but capitalism has to work for the worker and the consumer as well as work for the business. If it doesn't work for everyone, then it doesn't work, period. If collective bargaining is the only pathway you are given then by all means use it. I honestly don't know if teachers could band together nationwide or not. Given human nature, I doubt it. Teachers are underpaid in this country, of that, I have no doubt.

I still maintain that based on the booking charge the incident that caused the arrest happened outside the hearing room. Based on the charge I imagine what happened was she was escorted out and tried to re-enter the hearing room. We have a similar charge that is used when people try to go back in bars they were thrown out of

What was she charged with. He said she was resisting in the board room. I guarantee you that guy did his last security detail at the board meetings

You could actually read the article in the OP since it's covered there.

Remaining after being forbidden and resisting arrest. He said she was resisting after she was called on to speak. The officer said you are resisting. You don’t have to make up scenarios in your mind. What you saw on tape is what she did. She even walked out freely. She didn’t leave and try to go back in. It was too fast. The cop was WAY out of line.

Whatever you say dude. You've got all the answers after an article written based solely on the account of the teacher.
