RE: Logan Woodside pro prospects
Perhaps he will end up in NE as the replacement for Brady. They love undrafted free agents. I know it is speculative and about his NFL future but I think the skill comparison is similar to both Brees and Keenum. Maybe more so to Keenum.

I am sure he will get a chance, likely as FA. Really hard to say which team would sign him but teams always looking for backup QBs so assuming he remains healthy and performs as expected (or better) in post season game, combine and pro day, he should get some looks. Brees as a 2nd rd projected player, so clearly the pro scouts saw more skills and potential than they are seeing for Woodside who at best in projected as 6-7rd or FA. But you never know as pro scouting is far from an perfect science, and often it is about the right opportunity at the right time (including coaches and teammates) and hard work and dedication. Not much was expected for Bruce G coming out of college but he made good NFL career out of it.

Omar Jacobs was a 5th round pick, Bruce 6th round.

The relevant question there is where were they ranked going into the draft? Woodside is currently ranked as 6/7rd/FA-could change depending on how he performs in post season game, combine and pro day.

Most had Bruce as a 5th Rounder #7 QB. Jay Cutler was the most successful QB out of that 2006 Draft. Bruce was probably #3 of the QB's.

RE: Logan Woodside pro prospects
Looks like Jacobs and Bruce G were ranked 4th to 6th best QB prospects for 2006 draft and were drafted in 5th and 6th round respectively. Woodside does not appear on many top QB prospects lists (some which go as deep as top 20/25) and the few he does appear it is low 20s (7th rd/FA prospect). So appears at least at this point, pro scouts see him as less a prospect than Jacobs and Bruce were, and since 2006 MAC MVP QBs have faired even worse in terms of prospect ratings and draft success. Would appear he has work ahead in next few months to get on some team radars and impress the scouts prior to draft.

Yea considering he never made a NFL regular roster it appears that predraft assessment was off (even as a mid round draft pick). I do give him credit in the sense that he stuck with it and ended up playing with 9 years with various Arena Football leagues and teams including a championship. It does appear that his ranking and draft position was greatly impacted by leaving college early to take advantage of what was clearly a weak QB class year. At the time I thought he made a mistake to forgo his senior year, especially when he had a down junior year with injuries. Maybe he got some bad advice or felt his chances where better than would have been in the 2007 draft.

I think you missed the joke. "over inflated," it's a complaint Jacobs made, reported or rumored, after UT beat BG with a big second half come back (or maybe it was the 2OT game). He accused the balls were over inflated.

If you take Omar and add Tom Brady you just get average balls.

RE: Logan Woodside pro prospects
his game performance in NFLPA bowl was not great, but by all accounts he performed well in practices and may have opened eyes of a few more pro scouts to look a little more closer at him, hopefully solid combine and pro day can improve his changes, but unlikely his draft position moves up from current projection of 6-7rd/UNFA, and if ends up as UDFA may give him so more options and opportunities if multiple teams look to sign him after the draft.

Woodside is set to compete at the 2018 State Farm All-Star Football Challenge on Friday night at 9 p.m. ET at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on ESPN2. Another chance to display skill set to pro scouts.

If ESPN is clairvoyant, he may get a look by the Pats. Good amount of ink in this ESPN article:

He is getting some more buzz, interest and discussion among those who follow the NFL draft, hard to say how that will translate to the draft, but a good showing of skills and interviews at the Combine could help drive more interest and competition between teams, which could equal better draft slot. Draft can be an unpredictable process, always surprises of prospects that slide down or up. Not suggesting he will get to the first few rounds, but 5th rd or later could be possible, or who knows may still end up as RFA signing after draft-which has some advantages of letting him more choice as to team to sign with

Proud of Logan leading of our ROCKETS to a MAC crown but...threw an awful lot of passes high last season .I personally was at every game but two.
Only say that because the season prior he was more spot on, most passing attempts.
Also as a Rocket football fan I'm still wondering what happened at the bowl game to our team.
I need closure on that game to move on to next season.
Did Candle ever address this?
