The B12 is not expanding at least not until the GOR expires, like another 7 years. At that point, UCF may have 2 or 3 winless seasons. More likely TX and OK and OKST move on and the B12 is a lot less appealing.

Yes, and 2015 really seems to matter to people right now.

We could also have 2 or 3 more contested national championships.... It really could go either way... Or both.

Agreed. Was doing some research on all AAC member schools and UCF surprised me. 5 years might be a little soon for my prediction but with their enrollment in 15-20 years they're going to have to more money and fans than they're going to know what to do with. I don't feel like they're miles ahead of other AAC schools but they certainly will be eventually.
Look at all the power conference statistics we provide!
Meanwhile the big 12 is focused on promoting Ames, Iowa and Manhattan, Kansas.

The season ended two days ago and here we go with this —- ughhhh
I thought with Tulane claiming the 1998 National Championship we had graduated to the time honored P5 off season tradition of mining for forgotten national championships. But here we are.

RE: Congressman lobbies big 12 to consider USF and UCF
Gary Patterson was just on ESPN radio Dallas.
When ask about what he thought about UCF, he said "UCF had very good team but they have to realize you can't just win one battle, claim victory and not win the war. In the process make the P5 conferences upset the conferences that UCF strives to be move up to.
At TCU when we were going to be BCS bowls we knew our best route was to keep winning the battles and they would include us instead of just claiming victory"
Now that is some perspective from former a NonBCS coach that wanted to move up, doesn't sound like he thinks that is good strategy especially when UCF wants to be invited to a P5 conference

No, tcu got in bc Chris Del Conte schmoozed Deloss Dodds. So 2 nyd bowl (fiesta & peach) wins and 3 conference titles in 5 years is just one battle? We have the same amount of nyd bowl wins as tcu.

As I've been saying, ucf overpaying their hand here will turn the positive of a great season into a negative. The national champions thing is funny as a meme, provided they don't overdo it. But if they actually demand they're national champions, no one believes it, and they'll just annoy the people in power.
