I think we got a tough draw with an opening game against Pepperdine. We will get to see our young team up against pretty good competition early this year.

Also, according to Bonesville, there is a good chance that Mousa will be ready to go for the BCA. 04-cheers

FD/ELON --- ELON

OSU/Sienna ---OSU

Pepp/ECU ---ECU 04-rock

*****

NCSU/ELON --- NCSU

OSU/ECU --- ECU

***

My preds could change depoending if Mousa gets back in time...and Bronson gets his act togheter

I'm not 100% sold if we could sweep through the tourney though..young guys looked good but these are way tougher opponents

If that happened, we would never be invited back! If we get to the final game, I bet we don't get dogged like we did the last time.

That Pepperdine game worries me. Any idea what we should expect from them?

Its going to be a tough test right out of the gate. Should be a good gauge of where we are as a team and as a program. I really want to get to the finals to play State. I think its bull**** how they get the easy side of the bracket. I would think that they would want an ECU/ NCSU matchup because that is the game that would draw the biggest crowd. Wish I could go though.

Clearly, Bill Herrion continues to earn his proverbial stripes as the captain of the Pirate men's basketball ship, commencing with ECU's participation in the BCA Invitational.

Moreover, it is my opinion that the elite cadre of men's intercollegiate basketball programs represented in the BCA Invitational consist of North Carolina State University, Oregon State University and Pepperdine University. If the Pirates are able to garner a victory against Pepperdine University, then I think that ECU will fare well against Oregon State in the next round.

However, North Carolina State University could present a myriad of challenges for the Pirates. Contrary to popular belief in and around the Wolfpack intercollegiate athletic community, it is my belief that Herb Sendek is an exceptional recruiter and phenomenal "gameday" head coach who is well-prepared for every contest, irrespective of the opponent involved.

Entering the BCA Invitational, having not stepped foot onto the court at the Entertainment Sports Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, I am quite content to bear witness to a Pirate victory over Pepperdine University and Oregon State University, even if ECU is unable to garner a championship victory.

Ultimately, Bill Herrion needs to prove that he is able to compete on the level at which the Pirates are slated to compete. Otherwise, Mr. Holland may need to select a new coaching regime in Greenville.

In my opinion, Bill Herrion has been granted with a sufficient amount of resources and time in which to create an indelible signature on the face of the Pirate men's intercollegiate basketball program.

Bill is doing a great job leading the helm of our pirate basketball program. The thing is he has gone from the one bid CAA, to trying to compete in a much tougher C-USA to the realignment now. We are getting to the point were we can compete night in and night out with some of the top teams in C-USA. He will get it done and if the administration didnt think he would get it done they wouldnt have given him an extension. NO one should be calling for Herrions head.

First of all, I am not "calling for Herrion's head," only asserting my feelings that Bill Herrion needs to show improvement in terms of defining his overall record at ECU.

I am quite painfully cognizant of the state of the men's intercollegiate basketball program when we were affiliated with the Colonial Athletic Association and I have seen more than an adequate amount of losses at the hands of George Mason, James Madison, Virginia Commonwealth, Richmond and Old Dominion. Of course, the aforementioned CAA losses were somewhat negated by surprising victories against the institutional ilk of DePaul, Louisville, Marquette and other Conference USA constitutent institutions.

In my previous posting, perhaps I am feeling the effects of the state of our University's intercollegiate football program at the current critical juncture. In my opinion, John Thompson should be afforded with the full, five-year term allotment granted in his contractual agreement with ECU. However, if the remaining three years of his contractual agreement fare in the same fashion as his first two seasons in Greenville, it is my opinion that ECU should terminate the native Arkansan expeditiously.

Irrespective of athletic administrators and athletic coaches, my allegiance will always remain loyal to East Carolina University.

Let's beat Barton College tonight (Thursday night). Go Pirates.

I predict that if we have a poor shooting day from the outside, we're toast. Castro can't get every rebound. Corey better have a helluva game too.

Hate to say it, but I think we lose by 5.

Didn't look good in the 1st half, but boy did we wax them in the 2nd. Very impressed by the performance today. Just have to remember it's only one game (albeit without Moussa). Glad I was wrong, but we just wore them down and the guys showed a lot of hustle out there.

OK I was at the first 3 games today....

ECU ripped Pepperdine after half time adjustments!!!! B/c we din't do sh** in the first half.

Siena vs OSU.... this game was lopsided by OSU then Sienna comes back..takes comanding lead into 4min left ..then OSU goes on a run to pull it out.

All I can say about NCSU vs UNO is State tore 'em a new one. NCSU hit a lot of threes guys

I think the way ECU and NCSU romped...these guys might make hte finals

Could the ECU/NCSU final in the BCA be a bigger game than ECU vs NCSU in Charlotte?

Looks as if Pepperdine is going to put a mild thumping on Sienna (in the loser's bracket).

84-70 with less than 1 minute to play.
