Their defense was a lot of fun to watch (again) this year despite the slew of injuries. Not sure who they will bring in as DC but Saban loses his top assistants every year to head coaching jobs and just keeps on keeping on.

I have some Bama buddies who swear by Pruitt saying he has always been Saban's best and favorite assistant. He was definitely fortunate to be able to replace Smart with Pruitt when Smart left for UGA job. Pruitt was a great DC at FSU and UGA before going back to Bama. The dynamics of that game last night were just crazy. I Read somewhere where Pruitt was the one who recruited and landed 7 of UGA's Top 10 players in last night's game.

Saban cloned himself in Smart and Pruitt.

Coaching at Alabama is like Wharton Business Finishing School. You pass the course and you get blessed to become the CEO of a big program. Pruitt should do well. Even Lane Kiffin says that his time at Alabama changed him into who he is now where he can now succeed at this stuff.

As far as the dynamics, you are right. Pruitt recruited ta lot of those players from Georgia. Smart recruited the players from Alabama.

Sounds like some people watched after all. Reason why this format isn’t going anywhere.
