You spend years touting Power 6 and how our teams can compete with anyone and now that UCF gave you all the ammo you needed to fight the good fight, you tuck your tail between your legs?

this reminds me of when that lebanese prime minister visited saudi arabia and resigned and was basically under house arrest for like 2 weeks and then took back his resignation when he returned home.

He has mentioned that if the playoffs we're to expand that he thinks the American should have a AQ in it. What I think he is doing is trying to persuade the committee that it should be able to compete in the current system and not have our playoff inclusion tied to expansion only. I think he is making money moves.

Let’s see how this plays out. Aresco has been very good at leading this league. I will take a wait and see attitude about his strategy.

I agree, this is going one of two ways:

1) He's in talks with the Peach for a permanent spot. From the major bowl perspective, an 8 team playoff, means devaluing thier bowl. Getting a tie in to the Peach, would also mean an AD on the playoff committee.

2) He becomes a P5 commissioner or elite P5 AD

Aresco has never advocated for an expanded playoff. His goal was and is for the AAC to move back into the existing power structure that was taken in the last round of conference realignment,, period. The whole p6 campaign agenda is meant to apply pressure through fan acceptance of the AAC brand as a legitimate power by recognizing our accomplishments on the field/court enough for a NY6 bowl to accept us as their anchor conference which would put us back into the p5/6. As you can see as of now the conversation is being steered towards a g5 bid rather than an AAC auto-bid, that's not our goal at all because that would still leave us lumped in with the g5s. So calm down everybody,the man knows what he's doing

The stars will never be aligned more than now. Aresco is being WAY too conservative. His bosses need to tell him to do what he’s being paid to do which is promote our league and get us in a better situation.

Expand the playoff Mike! Stop with this charade

This clown needs to be fired ASAP

He clearly is working with motivates not aligned with what’s best for the AAC

Good God. You people are obtuse. It is unreal. Aresco is part of the system. All of these people are. That is why is is so surprising to see what someone like Danny White is doing.

You have evidence that AResco is not what you want to believe he is, yet you still make excuses for him? I love this board. It is awesome.
