FAU OC to Houston
Briles era comes full circle at Houston. Very few schools have the balls to hire him

Applewhite finally admitting he is desperate for help on the offensive side. Despite the taint, I actually now have a real reason for optimism next year. Otherwise, I figured we’d probably have to serve out our Applewhite sentence as a mid-pack team. I like the hire.

It seems desperate for a Texas school to rehire anyone named Briles this soon.

Eek

Eek

he was an OC at fau just last year. he produced the #1 offense by a huge margin of any non aac G5 team

and this was with a team that went 3 wins the year before....he was a finalist for the SC job and interview for lsu...i dont think its that big a deal

As long as his playbook doesn't consist of throwing the bubble screen 90% of the time. It'll be an upgrade.

WOw! Congrats Pesik, and Houston fans. This is huge. I would have said Houston was looking at another 7-5 type year. However, with Briles, King will grow, and you guys could be very good next year. Congrats again.

Side note: SDSU is looking at losing up to five Assistants this off season. Have already lost three. However, we have a ton of our two deep coming back.

Curious to see if experience in the field, offsets inexperience on the coaching staff. Interesting thing that most G5s face , when they have success.

I wouldn't call it desperate... I will however call it brilliant b/c now Houston will be dangerous on both sides of the ball.

Having said that, UCF will have a much easier path to reaching AAC championship unlike the AAC west were you have Houston Navy Memphis to deal with... Now if Cincinnati revives than I can see a tough AAC east with UCF USF Cincinnati.

Wow, it could be another AAC NY6 showing again

Ha the 2016 defeat in that hurricane will not soon be forgotten. Houston was 6th ranked with a clear path to the CFP until Navy ran roughshod over them.

I had the pleasure of sitting in that stadium to witness it. At least the crab cakes from Ruth's deli made that night a bit more pleasing.

If UCF is undefeated again they’ll be top 4

Great hire by Houston. Worried the league is so strong that we will beat up each other. Someone like Boise gets to play cupcakes all season in the g4 mwc.

Ha.

I'll make a bet with you. I bet you that the MW and AAC have the same number of teams ranked in the final AP Poll?

Also, the MW will be pretty top heavy next year. Boise, Fresno, and SDSU all have most of their two-deep returning. Air Force, Wyo and CSU have a good number returning as well. Withbthat, I only see three or four P5 wins next year.

If Boise plays cupcakes, what does that make Tulsa, Houston and Navy? Hell, Navy needed late game heroics to beat a middling MW team, right? Don't be dumb.

Good hire Houston. I am pumped for Applewhite.
