RE: Game Day: BG
no shot on the final possession is a huge bummer. and going to OT vs this BG team isn't that great.

Minnie with two turnovers and some bad defense in OT.

Classic clusterf*** performance by a Murphy squad. When you just roll the ball out there on offense and wing it, the best you'll ever be is inconsistent. We've seen this for seven years. Of course, some here want to see another seven years of evidence before forming a conclusion.

The kicked ball is a game changer with the clock reset.

A kicked ball resetting the shot clock to 20 seconds could be the worst rule I've ever seen. Unbelievable.

Goodbye to this better-than-usual crowd!
This program is SO GOOD at shooting itself in the foot. I'm pissed. These let downs in early-MAC play happen every year, and Murphy can't do anything to change it.

You mean the sets where they pass the ball around aimlessly before hoisting up a contested NBA 3? Or where they clear out for 1 on 1 play that invitably leads to a turnover?
That's all Murphy has in his bag.

Probably looking at another typical Murphy team, most likely finish under .500 in the MAC and get eliminated in the first round of the MAC tournament. I'm not saying this to be a jerk, but some of you on this board, thought this team would win 20+ games, and would beat UofM. I'm sorry but that is absurd. Murphy needs to go. We need a coach that can build a team other than with transfers, and who can "coach up" talent. Minnie, Thompson, Bond, and Jackson are all above average MAC talent, and we cant beat BG at home, just pathetic!

Awful, awful loss. The kind that gets coaches fired.
The players looked out of it. Disinterested. Minnie and Bond dribbling the ball off of their feet, Thompson not even trying to front Wiggins, Jackson dribbling to nowhere. If Murphy wasn't coaching for his life, he'd be trying new things with his rotations, like he did in the past. But we are going to live and die by our starting five.

Ehh, you're always the type to show up after games like this. A lot like Bob W. You don't say a word after an impressive win, and then bash other posters' opinions after a loss. Be consistent.

Yep. Murphy has been a poor teacher of basketball especially on offense. The interior defense of the zone is very weak. Luckeyone has been getting hammered on this forum from Murphy zone apologists. It is disgusting how many easy and uncontested shots are given up most games.

It is time. Murphy will NEVER get this team to play up to it's capabilities. A patchwork team of transfers with no continuity. Murphy is the worst coach in the MAC. I have zero interest in watching the same thing year in year out.

You think they'd be playing harder if it was man-to-man? Bond is the only player on the back line who plays hard all the time. Thompson, Minnie, and Groce all had matador moments throughout the game, and our defense suffers significantly whenever Bond is on the bench.
Blame Murphy for not getting the best effort out of his players, fine. Has very little to do with the defensive scheme.

No one here is a "zone apologist," but you have to realize you can't blame every single loss on the zone. We didn't lost today because of the zone, we lost today because in the clutch, we have 0 offensive sets written up and Murphy refuses to practice offense during practice.
Saying every single game we lose is 100% because of the defensive formation is ridiculous, and that's what people are trying to say.

I'm also saying that the talent is there however it is not mixing
