Honest question and I'm just curious, where are the great, young (25-40 or so) thinkers of the left? The right has Shapiro, Crowder, Kirk, Pavlich, Milo, Guy Benson, Cernovich, O'Keefe, Lauren Southern, PJW, I could go on.
Who does the left have? The ones I know of are all just toxic SJWs.

I wouldn't say "hate". He tries to play it down the middle. He praises him when he does (what he thinks is) good, and hits him when he doesn't. It's been almost exclusively praise for the past few months.

Cink Weegur is a joke. Sam Harris is decent (he's also 50), but I find his holier than thou persona to be a bit obnoxious. I've heard Shapiro talk about their discussion, so I may give it a shot.
Only others I can think of are Dave Rubin (formerly of TYT), but he doesn't consider himself a leftist anymore, so he doesn't count. Guys like Sargon of Akkaad (classical liberal) and Jordan Peterson (who considers himself a classical, British liberal) should resonate, but the American "progressive" left calls them both alt-right and nazi sympathizers, solely because they will talk to people with somewhat edgy opinions. Same with Styxhexenhammer666. So, none of them count either.
The whole "progressive" wing is literally devoid of talent. They prop up those like Linda Sarsar, but it's astroturfed.
There isn't a single person in their movement that can throw a "Deploraball" like Cernovich, where 1k+ people will pay $100+ to attend. Not a single one can sell out a 5k venue like Shapiro or Milo.

I thought he was a never trumper, he hated trump. But Shapiro is never led around by his bias so when Trump does something well he will give credit.
