41. thank baby jeezus i still look lower 30s, or so i always hear. #blackdontcrack
C/o 2000. Economics major grad. Apparently Econ is now in the biz school. Back in my day - i can't believe i'm old enuf to say that now - we were over in the leaning tower of Crosley, and a science outta A&S. For the record, econ is a f'n science...so we shouldn't be in the biz school. /old man rant.
on the yard from 95-2000 - spent a year in Columbus at tOSU (don't worry, as a native Cincy guy I've always held a deep seeded hatred for the Buckeyes). Partied so much i knew i'd never graduate there, so came on home.
Been Bearcat Board commenting since ~2002ish. A shrinking cohort of us used to be regulars on ESPN's boards until they blew them up. I took the Mark D leaving HARD. Little did i know this was going to be life at UC. Regardless of conference. Was one of the bigger Huggins detractors. I cede the top spot to rounda32 - wherever he is nowadays. Eventually found my way here after lurking on some alternatives.

Semi on topic, but I often feel like I'm one of the few on here who isn't an alum. I actually *gasp* went to Ohio State out of high school as an undergrad, took a hiatus (aka dropped out), and finished up with a technical degree from a terrible for-profit school I don't care to mention. But I've been a UC fan since I was about 6 (Final Four run drew me in) and aside from a passing interest in OSU football during my time there, I've never been a fan of any other school.

I also did not go to UC (Vandy grad), but grew up in Cincinnati and have followed the team for as long as I can remember.

I often feel like I am one of the few on here that was a die hard Ohio State fan growing up. I had a great Eddie George(Who is still one of my favorite collegiate players of all time) jersey, and I went to Joey Galloway football camps. Had tons of Ohio State autographs from all kinds of guys like Vrabel, Katz, Steve Tovar, Cooper, Boston, Mike Doss. I absolutely loved that 2002 National Championship team. I had one Cincinnati hat and sweatshirt in the 90's and claimed to be a UC basketball fan (my dad was an alum who was a UC basketball fan) to be different, but to be honest the only College Basketball game I watched before I came to UC was a OSU game in 1998 that my Mom took me to. I think my only real memory of UC sports prior to my attending UC was pointing out that UC was on TV in the airport playing in the Humanitarian Bowl.
All that changed when I went to UC in Fall 06. My first game was against Miami in 06, and the fraternity I eventually joined invited me to go along with them to the game and I remember us all lounging in the bleachers because nobody was there. They bought me beers, and it was a great time. We all went back that night and watched the Ohio State vs Iowa game.
As that season went on, I started seeing a ton of potential in UC, and the games got a lot better. That Rutgers game really was the moment my love for Ohio State died, and my love for UC began. Now I am one of those few brave souls flying my UC and Tottenham flags out front of my house on game days surrounded by Scarlet and Grey.
As with all my sports team choices UC brings more heartbreak than joy, but I could never support another college team.

I also did not go to UC. Went to CTC (Cincinnati State for you youngsters) But have a boat load of family and friends that went to UC. Was not into the whole school thing and that was the fastest way for me to get into the IT world.

I am not from Ohio and didn't even know what a Bearcat was. The only team I have rooted for since 1979.

RE: OT: Age Survey of Bearcat Banter Posters
31 years old. Spent the first semester of college at Kent State in 2004, realized I hated flat, cold, windy parcels of land and missed my friends, so I enrolled in my local university, UC, in January by default. Best decision I ever made. Was at UC the day Bob Huggins got fired. There was a thank you poster in the hallway of the Corry parking garage thanking Bob and wishing him well that people were signing. One person wrote their name, phone number and offered their services the next time Bob needed a DD. Graduated '09 with a degree in Communications / Business Communications / PR. I work with a bunch of engineers and Xavier grads who poo poo studies of my ilk, which makes it fun to point out all the errors in their work.
Long time lurker, started posting more recently. Reading some of the things in this forum, especially regarding FC Cincinnati, the Big 12, and Duane, has taken years off my life.

52 - Bachelor's of Mechanical Engineering in 1989. Graduation was the first event held in the brand spanking new Shoemaker Center. Used my expired student ID to get in free to the student section for the first 2-3 Huggins years. Used my brother-in-law to buy me student guest passes for two years after that.

RE: OT: Age Survey of Bearcat Banter Posters
What a great response from everyone thus far. Based on 120 responses, the "Survey Sayzz!"...
56% of the posters are aged 41 and older.
44% are aged 40 and younger.
The biggest bulges (that sounds funny) in the survey distribution:
32% of the posters are between the ages of 26 to 35.
28% are between 41 to 50.
In hindsight, I wished I added a few more cohorts - there are 13 posters (11%) over the age of 61. I love that! Take that you greenhorns!

My username isn't The T-shirt for nothing... my education came from elsewhere also.
Been a fan since my parents (both UC alums) took me to a football game as a kid. Now im a season ticket holder all these years later.
