The ladies did not play well last night and lost in a tight one. Miami's front line 3 averaged over 6'1" and we could match up to that. Also, we are a slow team little speed along with little quickness makes for a long night that and Miami hit their free throws at a 90% clip.

Is the women's team as bad at making free throws as our men's team is?

EMU defeats WMU and moves to 4-2 in MAC

Even more interesting is that some of the more exciting players I've heard are freshmen and the team should be even better next season.

Keep it rolling!!!!

Hate to disappoint you but EMU WBB has a number of transfers (including Minott) and plays the the zone... 05-stirthepot The Murphy effect is in force for WBB.

The three big scorers tonight were Minnott (29 points), Sasha Dailey, and Emoni Jackson (UofM transfer).

Minott has been carrying this team with her 3-ball shooting, shooting 41% within conference.

If Murphy had someone shooting 41% behind the arc in conference play Luckey would get packing for a trip to CLE and maybe the big dance.

We (women) play a zone because we have a weak middle. 07-coffee3 You play a zone defense to cover up a defensive weakness.

I guess this explains why Murphy plays zone extensively because Thompson is a weak defender.

Nope just not getting as many we don't have the speed to drive the lane. 07-coffee3

Yes, we started good, but I'm not sure this is a good team (I watch much of yesterday's game).

Last year the team imploded due to transfers which took place after the coaching change (apparently the players want Finley; didn't get Finley; and adios EMU*).

We have some good frosh, transfers and 2018/9 frosh signees, but the transfers will be gone before the incoming frosh are impact players.

Tough rebuild here.

* Our transfers have not found 'greener grass' at other high major schools. Both were role players after being impact players at EMU. Sweeney at Ga Tech and Morton at knee braska (phonetic spelling. Lol).

Football 5 - 7 (but an exciting season it was).

EMU WBB losing record after a total rebuild.

EMU baseball gone in the toilet.

EMU MBB 9 - 7 in conference on a 4-game win streak. This is our winning revenue sport.

Lest we forget Track & Field is still a big winning sport for EMU (M & W).

Most MAC mens teams are not happy with their head coaches even Steven records or schedules but lack of money insures this will continue first team to find some spare cash to upgrade their program will leave the rest in the dust

I would suggest MAC WEST MBB fans quit beating themselves up. The MAC West (as a division) is not bad. It has four pretty good teams.

The MAC East is weak, other than UB, for various reasons including some real injury problems this year at some schools.

RE: Women's Hoops Discussion
I've seen this team a handful of times this year. Castro seems to do a pretty good job with an under-sized team. He substitutes like crazy and uses his entire bench. Thus EMU has made a bunch of comebacks this year like last evening due to being fresh at the end. Plus next year we will have a roster of players (-4) that have substantial game experience.

I think he has done a good job.

A .500 overall record for next year would be a reasonable goal

I think this was my first time watching a WBB game this season, unfortunately. Minott is a real talent. Had 16 points in the 4th quarter and damn near got us to OT by herself.
