I'd only watch to see Alabama's tears. But truth be told, I am so sick about hearing about the SEC all day long on ever freaking channel that I just can't get worked up over it.

I'll watch because it's the last football game until next season.

I would too but I wonder if even ESPN thinks this will be the best for most tv eye balls

I'm not as excited, but I am quite pleased. Should be a great final. The Southeast will watch, the avid college football fans will watch, and the combination of the hush from some quarters and the butt hurt from others will be enjoyable. It's just nice to start the New Year realizing that the world is beginning to spin in the right direction again. I just wish that in the great coaching carousel of 2017 that Arkansas had gotten stuck with Malzahn. We just can't get rid of Jay Jacobs soon enough. And now the oddest thing you can hear from an Auburn fan, I'm actually looking forward to basketball season.

Happy New Year!

Nobody wants to see a rigged system that allowed a third place team from a conference going on for the championship.

Suddenly we are back to 2011 again, and the event that sprung the leak in the BCS

This year actually sets up well for an 8team playoff. Can we have Ohio State play UCF, and that winner play the Bama-Georgia winner?

I'm happy to know that no matter what the SEC wins again. The epic levels of butthurt on this Board is just icing on a great cake.

Happy new year to you as well.

Back to 2004 Auburn...Tulane 1998. It's not like this has never happened.

RE: Georgia vs Alabama in title game, who will watch ?
I don't give a rat's rear what ESPiN thinks is best for TV eye balls. Everyone seemed to want a playoff, so they came up with the plus one game. When two SEC schools ended up playing in it, they decided to expand to four teams. I'm sure that the call for an eight team playoff will get louder since poor little Ohio State was left out of this year's group, plus all of the whining about the injustice of not having the PAC involved. Add that to Scott Frost's claim that UCF was wrongly omitted and the eight team playoff will be right around the corner.

Personally, I was hoping for a Georgia-Alabama championship game, so I will be looking forward to the game.

This is officially the worst day in the history of Auburn football. Their 2 biggest rivals, that they beat, are playing for the national championship and the lost to Central Florida.

Gosh when you put it like that it is the worst from Auburn’s perspective

RE: Georgia vs Alabama in title game, who will watch ?
I don’t care for the matchup but I’ll watch. I think there were 5-6 legitimate national championship contenders including these two. I won’t be completely satisfied with any championship matchup until there is fair access for all FBS schools. If there will never be fair access then there should be a split.

I’m picking Georgia.

For what it’s worth:

2015 CFP NCG - #4 over #2
2016 & 2017 CFP NCG - #2 over #1
2018 CFP NCG - #3 vs #4

If I were to reseed top 10 after the NY6...
#1 Georgia
#2 Alabama
#3 Oklahoma
#4 Ohio St
#5 Central Florida
#6 Wisconsin
#7 Clemson
#8 Penn St
#9 TCU
#10 Notre Dame

Back to 2004 Auburn...Tulane 1998. It's not like this has never happened.

There will always be arguments about who is worthy to be considered for the championship. I thought the 2004 Auburn team had a legitimate claim to being the best team in the nation that year, though I didn't think even Tulane fans thought their undefeated team was as good as BCS champion Tennessee.

Expanding the playoff to include four more teams will do nothing to stop the complaints. There will always be someone left out that people will feel are more deserving than a team that gets in.
