Happy New Year!
Here's to a better 2018. I can't wait.

This year has been a crap fest for me. I mean yes, I did graduate college (finally), and I did get a new car. And of course, the Astros won the World Series. But it was mostly a horrible year for my family and me. My last car had persistent brake problems, my mother-in-law had a stress-related heart attack which almost killed her, my father in law got two major surgeries in a matter of months (back, then hip replacement), Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area (which resulted in my in-laws' house in Dayton, Liberty County, getting a few inches of water), my wife was forced to resign from her teaching job with Galena Park ISD, my father-in-law is being forced into early retirement by the higher ups at his job, my sister-in-law lost her last car to the flood waters of Harvey, and finally, both my grandfather and father passed away within 16 days of each other. I almost dropped out of college (again) because of my dad's death. I didn't, though.

How was your 2017, guys?

Anyway, I hope and pray 2018 is a great year for all of us. God Bless y'all.

Happy New Year. Two of my resolutions this year are to be on the Internet less and doing more useful personal things instead. So I may not be around here as much but best regards all anyway and here's to a great 2018.

Happy New Year!
2017 was fine... took a bunch of unexpected financial hits ($2K car repair, HVAC had to be replaced, wife's medical bills, promised promotion still in queue due to freeze imposed by our parent company). Ended with my 3rd child, a girl, born 12/29. 2018 s/b a great year.

2017 was a mixed bag for me, but I survived it in good shape.

God bless all of you throughout 2018 and in the future.

RE: Happy New Year!
There were setbacks for me as far as health. Nothing drastic though, but my wife is still having problems with hers. Poor lady has had so many pitfalls. Now she's battling a vertigo situation that the doctors don't even know what it is. We'll be going to the Mayo Clinic later this month and God willing they'll be able to pinpoint her problem and maybe provide a solution to treat it. But, we're Christian and we'll go with what our Lord has in store for us.

As for this site I've decided to make my resolution one of agreeing to disagree which will be really hard at times. I'll try not to insult the Liberals on this site for their continued love of hating on Trump. I might not have any teeth from all the gnashing but like I've done with the Nfl kneeling where I'm not watching anymore I'll refrain from insults even if it kills me or close to it.

Happy New Year to everyone and I'm hoping that your life is better than what Liberals portray it is.
